ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I required the advice and counsel of well-known people in order to finish my project. I want
to start by giving thanks to Allah for blessing me with a sound body and lucid intellect so that
I may carry out my duties. As a result of finishing the report, I feel a sense of satisfaction.

I just wanted to say thanks to Miss Nur, my IBM537 instructor, for her helpful phone
consultation on the project. She has been a constant source of support and guidance as I
complete my individual projects and apply the findings of my study. In this lecture, our
professor will be discussing the United Arab Emirates, a nation in Southwestern Asia.

Finally, I'd want to express my gratitude to everyone who provided me with guidance and
encouragement during the course of this endeavour. Many more thanks are due to everyone
in my class who has been helpful. I would not have been able to do such a challenging task
without your help. Consequently, I want the best for everyone who helped me with this
project and worked with me on this analysis.

1.0 PROFILE OF UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

What are United Arab Emirates? The United Arab Emirates is a Southwestern
Asia nation. This is placed at the eastern extremity of the Arab Peninsula and has
boundaries with Oman and Saudi Arabia, as well as marine connections with Qatar
and Iran in the Persian Gulf. The UAE has indeed been populated for more than
125,000 years. Numerous societies, include Mesopotamia, Persia, and India, used it as
a commercial gateway. In practise, the emir of Abu Dhabi functions as head of state,
and the governor of Dubai performs as Vice President and Prime Minister. In the
twenty-first era, the state has grown fewer depending on petroleum and has shifted
its economical priority to tourist activities and industry.

2.0 HISTORY

Julfar, as in current emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, emerged as a major commerce

and marine centre within that country as a result of the UAE's commerce histories.
Emirati businessmen' naval domination of the Persian Gulf contributed to clashes with
European countries such as the Portuguese Empire and the British Empire. With its
signature of the General Maritime Treaty with the British in 1820, the coast emirates
were recognized as the Trucial States, establishing the Trucial States as a British
administration. Upon the British surrender of its legal responsibilities, the structure
came to a conclusion on December 2, 1971, with the foundation of a United Arab
Emirates.

The Islamic prophet, Muhammad, is said to having written a message only to

kings of Oman in 630 century, nine years following hajj, which is believed means
having resulted with in expansion of Islam to the Arab Peninsula's northernmost point.
Following a result, a number of leaders travelled to Medina, converted to Islam, and
organised a productive insurrection over the unpleasant Sasanids, which ruled the
North coastlines just at moment. Upon Muhammad 's passing, the fledgling Islamic
settlements south of its Persian Gulf began to break up, with insurgencies towards
Muslim authorities.

Very first Christian building in the UAE were found with in 1990s, a huge
monastery structure at which is currently recognized as Sir Bani Yas Island. A church,
believed toward being Nestorian and constructed in the 600s, seems may had left
closed down quietly in the 750s. It is a unique visible connection to a Christian heritage
that is estimated means having expanded over the region via trading connections
between the 50th and 350th centuries. Even by 5th century, Oman had such a priest
called John, and Etienne was its final priest of Oman in the 676th century.

4
3.0 POPULATION SIZE

The UAE's image is transforming. Once the 2021 UAE population numbers are
compared to past years, it's indeed clear that now the trend is reaching its maximum
presently. As increasing number of immigrants, the state is today most culturally
mixed than before. Here is not particular factor that individuals continue to come to
the state. This may be its administration's liberal taxation policy, the beach, or the
Ministry of Happiness and Wellbeing.

Although in the middle of Covid-19, its current statistics show a 0.05 million
rise in population above last year's estimates. During GMI investigation on this topic,
they found upon various contradictory statistics regarding the UAE's population in
2021. They were examining at statistics from a variety of organizations, each of which
has utilised its different methods and procedures to get at its conclusions.

United Arab Emirates population is more than simply a figure on a graph. It can
identify pertinent concerns and disclose intriguing truths once it is classified and
examined. While the year 2022 approaches, it might seem prudent to evaluate the
UAE's present demographic numbers in order to comprehend the country's successes
and downsides. During 2022, the UAE's population will be 10.08 million. The
population volume of the United Arab Emirates is 102.20 persons per square
kilometre, up 0.91 percent over 2021. By 2022, overall number of expats in the UAE
will be 8.92 million.

One of elements contributes to the nation's population growth is the intake of

foreigners. Because of the abundance of work prospects in the UAE, that amount of
immigrants living there has increased. By 2020 Exhibition generating a large range of
work opportunities, they may predict a rise through the amount of immigrants in the
following months. The populations of the United Arab Emirates are 10,081,782 since
March 20, 2022.

5
4.0 CULTURAL ASPECTS

The Cultural of the United Arab Emirates is element of the cultural of Eastern
Arabia. The previous demographic was a tiny ethnic group that transformed with
advent of an inflow of immigrant migrants as in mid-20th century. Emirati tradition is
a combination of Arabian, Islamic, and Persian traditions, with inspirations from the
traditions of East Africa and Indian Subcontinent. Islam seems to have had a
considerable effect on local building, entertainment, clothing, food, and lifestyles.

i. Customs and Traditions

Emiratis have unique traditions and customs. As a welcoming

gesture, Arab coffee is served in Dallah, an Arabic coffee pot, to guests.
Refusing a welcome is disrespectful and insulting. Falconry is a
centuries-old Bedouin tradition in the UAE. The falcon 'Saqr' symbolises
bravery, commitment, strength, attractiveness, and fulfilment.
Marriage is a major cultural event in the country, with many traditions,
rituals, and festivities.

ii. Incredible Building

Inspired by Persian, Arabian, and Islamic architecture, the

structure depicts UAE and Emirati life, customs, and culture. Local
builders use a range of materials and study the environment to provide
ventilation and privacy. 'Barjeel' or a 'Windtower' is an Iranian
construction element that promotes clean circulation. The UAE's malls
and hotels are well-designed since so many tourists come. Souk
Madinat, Dubai, and Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi, were
notable for their architecture.

iii. Dressing Style

Emiratis' style of dress is influenced by Islamic literature

encouraging cleanliness and strictness; hence men and women wear
clothing that cover different body parts. Abaya is a long black robe that
covers the whole body save the foot, wrists, and face. Kandura is a long,
white, loose robe that men in the Arab Emirates wear with Ghutrah, a
knotted headpiece. The length of Kandura may be used to determine a
person's status, the longer the robe, the wealthier the person.

6
iv. Food or Cuisine

UAE cuisine is rich in flavours and ingredients like dates, cloves,

cardamom, cinnamon, saffron, etc. This country's specialty is baked
camels with goats, lambs, and chickens. Camel meat is expensive, so it's
reserved for special occasions. Harees, made by gradually simmering
pulverised grains and meat, is restricted during Eid and Ramadan. Kabsa
features rice dishes with meat and vegetables. Maqluba, a classic dish
created by cooking meat, rice, and vegetables in a pot and turning it at
the end, is served with salads, yoghurt, or sauce.

7
5.0 RELIGION

Islam is respectively the recognized and predominant religion of the United

Arab Emirates represented by around 76 percent of the population. The Al Nahyan
and Al Maktoum ruling dynasties subscribe to Sunni Islam of Maliki school of law.
Numerous supporters of the Hanbali school of Sunni Islam are located in Sharjah,
Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Ajman. Its followers including the Al Qasimi royal
family. Various faiths recognized in the country like Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism,
Judaism and Sikhism are practised by non-nationals.

i. Islam

The government proclaims Islam as the state official religion.

There was greater Sunni than Shia Muslims in the United Arab Emirates.
Approximately 90 percent of the Emirati people are Sunni Muslims. The
great proportion of the residual 5-10 percent are Shia Muslims, who are
located in the Emirates of Dubai and Sharjah. Since nonactual figures
are known regarding the division among Sunni and Shia Muslims
between non-resident inhabitants, press reports claim fewer than 20
percent of the non-resident Muslim community were Shia.

The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments

(Awqaf) manages Sunni mosques, except in Dubai, where the Islamic
Affairs and Charitable Activities Department oversees them (IACAD).
The Awqaf uploads scripts each Friday instructing Sunni imams on
khutbah subjects and content. Beginner imams followed the Awqaf
khutbah script exactly; middle-level imams prepared speeches based
on the theme or topic material supplied by Awqaf authorities; and top
imams tended to choose their own khutbah themes. Several Shia
religious leaders in Shia-dominated mosques adopted Awqaf-approved
weekly addresses. The Government maintains Sunni mosques, barring
those labelled personal, and all Sunni imams are government
employees.

ii. Christianity

Catholics and Protestants represent large percentage of the

Christian minority. The nation contains at minimum 45 churches. The
institutions under state control still had no Christian religious
instruction. Numerous Christians in the United Arab Emirates are of
Asian, African, and European descent, together with neighbouring
Middle Eastern nations Lebanon, Syria, and other states. Around April
2020, a Latter-day Saint church is revealed in Dubai.

8
iii. Hinduism, Sikhism and Jainism

Hinduism and Jainism are practised by a big part of the

population of Indians and Pakistani Sindhis residing in the UAE. To
recognise the assistance of the Indian entrepreneurial sector in the
earlier growth of Dubai as a commerce port, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al
Maktoum donated the approval and the property to construct a temple
in Bur Dubai. Also, there is a Sikh Gurdwara south of Dubai, near Jebel
Ali.

iv. Judaism

The Emirates are reviving Judaism by 2022. UAE has a small

Jewish population (UAE). Dubai has only recognised synagogues since
2008. Synagogue welcomes visitors. According to Rabbi Marc Schneier
of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, 150 to 3,000 Jews live and
perform openly in the UAE since 2019. UAE sponsors Dubai's synagogue
and appointed a Minister for Tolerance in 2016.

9
6.0 RACE OR ETHNICITY

The United Arab Emirates are a democratic country in Southeast Arabia. Saudi
Arabia, Oman, Iran, and Qatar border them. Abu Dhabi, the country's capital, is one of
seven national Emirates organisations. In 2013, the UAE had 9.2 million inhabitants,
1.4 million of whom were native Emiratis and 7.8 million foreigners. The oldest
evidence of human presence in the UAE goes back 125,000 years. The region has
Neolithic and Bronze Age graves. The tombs are ancient.

i. Emirati

One million individuals identify as Emirati, the native

population of the UAE. As trucial nations, the Emirates have always had
rulers or dominating family. Abu Dhabi was settled by the Bani Yas
dynasty, and Al Bu Falasah, a Bani Yas scion, ruled Dubai in 1833. Both
emirates are U.A.E. Shargiyin ruled Fujairah, while Al Na'im ruled
Ajman. Qawasim lived in Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah. "Emirati" refers
to Arabs from the UAE (UAE). "Emirates" means "emirate" in Arabic.

ii. Indians

This country's population is largely Indian or Indian-born

(about 27 percent). The lengthy history of cooperation between India
and the UAE is mostly due to marine trade. This connection is ancient.
Due to possibilities in banking and oil, many Indians moved to the
country. As in UAE, Indian immigrants work in transportation, industry,
and finance. Indian immigrants establish businesses and provide
competent services. Gulf states have had political and economic links
with India for centuries.

iii. Bangladeshi

It is believed that there are more than 500,000 people of

Bangladeshi descent living in the UAE, making up around 9.5 percent of
the overall population in the nation. One of the biggest and most
prominent ethnic groups in the nation are the Bangladeshis who have
settled abroad.

iv. Pakistanis

"Pakistani ethnic group" refers to the ancestors of Pakistanis

who have made the UAE their permanent home, as well as visitors from
Pakistan and Emiratis of Pakistani lineage. More than 1.2 million make
up 9.4% of the nation's population. They're the third-largest Pakistani
community outside of Pakistan, after Saudi Arabia and the UK, and one
of the largest in the country.

10
7.0 CLIMATES

UAE weather is bright and wet. Due to the nation's tropical weather, tourists
may take advantage of the sunny sky throughout the day to participate in thrilling
activities. Participating in activities in the nation's dry parts irritates sun-exposed skin
and leaves marks of a fantastic vacation. People in the UAE may select from several
outdoor activities. Prepare your feet and body to enjoy the nation's weather.

Sunscreen is particularly important during the warmest months of the year,

which are July and August. Temperature on the seaside may fluctuate widely and can
often go up to approximately 48 degrees Celsius. The majority of such areas have a
high level of moisture. Through the day, it is recommended to wear clothing that are
comfy. Moreover, there are certainly several great sites to visit in this nation.

During the cold, which typically lasts from December to February,

temperature often vary from 76 to 24 to 26 degrees Celsius (80 degrees Fahrenheit),
making it seem surprisingly warm. Temperatures during the night-time range between
10 and 12 degrees Celsius (50- and 54-degrees Fahrenheit), while daytime
temperatures range between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius (61 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit)
when nice air masses from the north are present. This is especially true during the
month of January.

Its summer might be extremely hot and sunny, with daytime temperatures
between June and September ranging from 39 ° C to 42 ° C (101 to 107 ° F), and with
the air from the Persian Gulf carrying moisture air from the ocean, causing the warmth
to rise. Between June and September, daytime temperatures ranged from 39 ° C to 42
° C (one zero one to 107 ° F). April and October are indeed warm months, with
maximum temperatures ranging from 34 to 36 degrees Celsius (93 to 97 degrees
Fahrenheit). In these most recent days, the temperature may reach 47 to 48 degrees
Celsius (117 to 118 degrees Fahrenheit) by the seaside, or possibly higher inland.

11
8.0 NATURAL RESOURCES

First and foremost, UAE natural resources is petroleum or oil. In comparison

to the world standard, the UAE possesses significant natural energy. It is the globe’s
seventh biggest raw oil company and OPEC's fourth biggest producer of oil products.
Based on the Administration of the United Arab Emirates, the state has around 99
billion barrels of petroleum supplies, which is nearly as much as Kuwait estimates. Abu
Dhabi having the most resources, accounting for 90% of overall resources, with 92
billion barrels, whereas Dubai contains just 4 billion barrels and Sharjah with 1.5 billion
tanks.

UAE also has natural gas. The UAE is a natural gas power due to its high
proven resources and demand. Abu Dhabi has the most natural gas (94%), followed
by Sharjah, Dubai, and Ras al-Khaimah. The state's natural gas reserve ranks fourth in
the Mideast and seventh globally. The UAE can produce considerably more gas, but
production is small owing to the high sulphur component of its natural gas. The high
sulphur level complicates natural gas production and processing. Natural gas
generates electricity and desalinates water. The UAE imports natural gas despite its
vast supplies.

Last but not least, land is other natural resource of United Arab Emirates.
Considering the state's primarily arid environment, agricultural land is projected to
account for around 1% of overall land surface. The UAE have actively attempted to
increase the amount of land below cultivation by doing studies on fertilisation and soil
quality technology. Agriculturally productive soil can be found along oasis and
intermittent riverbanks. Given the climatic changes, the UAE had established booming
agricultural, which eventually led to self-sufficiency in some vegetable products. Its
state's beef and milk businesses are also expanding.

12
9.0 POLITICAL SYSTEMS

The Constitution is the political structure's basis since it establishes its basic
standards. The Constitution lays forth the main reason for the nation's foundation and
its aims for local and national administration. All UAE nationals enjoy the same
freedoms, opportunities, security, protection, and social fairness. The UAE has a
difficult political history, but today it's a modern, tolerant society. Skeptics dispute if
this is true. Foreigners must learn about the UAE's democratic framework and how
personal rights differ from their own country.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) had also, over the course of several years,
made a significant number of strides toward the advancement of its democratic
structure, with the goals of making it much more favourable to the requirements of
the social economic improvements of the nation and of ensuring that the population
of the UAE is prepared to deal with the hurdles posed by worldwide growth. The votes
for the Federal National Council, which took place in the UAE in 2006, and the
establishment of the election system were both historic moves that were taken with
the intention of increasing popular engagement in the democratic structure of the
UAE.

9.1 Political reform tactics

The Government of the UAE conducted a number of different initiatives in order to

improve the political system in the UAE. The following are several of the procedure:

i. Agenda Adopted by the UAE Government in 2007

The objective of the plan was to foster collaborative interactions among

the national administration and local administrations. additionally, it seeks to
revitalise the regulations and strategy positions of the ministers and improve
those choice methods. It also seeks to improve the effectiveness of government
entities and upgrade their facilities in conformance with the requirements of the
people. Finally, it seeks to review and improve upon the current legal framework.

ii. Changes made to the Constitution via amendments

The revision of Article 62 of the Constitution, which took place around the
close of 2008, was an important step. According to the revised legislation, the
Prime Minister, the colleagues, or another national minister is prohibited from
working in any kind of professional or business capacity, and they are also not
allowed to engage in any kind of business deal with the national administration or
municipal governments.

13
10.0 RECENT GOVERNMENT

i. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan

The President of the United Arab Emirates at the moment is His

Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. After the loss of his
brother, the late H. H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on May 14,
2022, he got chosen to succeed his brother as leader. H. H. Sheikh
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the current Vice-President and
Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. He was elected to these
positions after the early 2006 passing of his brother, Sheikh Maktoum bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, who served in these capacities before.

At the federal level, there are governmental organisations and

ministers, and at the community scale, there are Rulers' Courts, Executive
Councils, Municipalities, and Consultative Councils. Government entities
provide assistance to both levels of administration, the federal and the
local, and they do so in combination with higher officials. Furthermore,
classical forms of government are still practised in the UAE, the
organization known as "Majlis" guarantees that people have unfettered
contact to the leaders and fosters relationship of trust between them.

ii. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Noblest Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice

President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai approved the revised
structure of government. Sheikh Mohammed demanded a ministry
reorganisation on May 13, 2020, as part of plans for a coronavirus-free
future. It needs a more flexible, adaptive, and fast government to keep up
with changing national goals. Authorities met to prepare for the
pandemic's aftermath. Over 100 governmental officials and professionals
joined the conference to address healthcare, education, economy, food
supply, society, and democracy.

Sheikh Mohammed mentioned that the post-COVID-19 process

would have an effect on the employment processes in both the public and
confidential industries. Like a result, it is necessary to establish a research
method that is both informative and resourceful in order to investigate the
characteristics of this phase and implement alternatives to the difficulties
it presents. They have a good chance of making a speedy recovery
following the epidemic that has swept the earth. improve its capacity to
deal with any crisis that may arise in the future and speed up the
procedure of recovering after the current obstacle has been resolved.

14
11.0 ECONOMIC PRACTICES

i. Gross Domestic Product (GDP)

Figure 1: Gross Domestic Product from FocusEconomics

Globally, the UAE is listed between its best 20 for international

service sector by AT Kearney, between the top 30 on the WEF's "most-
networked nations," and in the upper quartile of the TI's integrity ranking.
The UAE administration declared a sweeping reorganisation and merging
of greater over half of its government entities, involving ministry and
organizations, in an effort to manage with and rebuild following the
economic impacts caused by the months-long COVID-19 quarantine.

Economy development is expected to rise more this year, following

a resurgence in 2021, owing partly to a thriving oil industry. Non-oil
earnings would be basically stable, but the administration's restructuring
effort would keep the industry performing well. Global conflicts,
unpredictable petroleum pricing, US financial policies, and new Covid-19
variations are all major hazards. GDP is expected to grow 5.4 percent in
2022, up 0.2 percentage point from previous month's prediction, and 4.5
percent in 2023, according to FocusEconomics panellists.

15
ii. Gross National Income (GNI)

Figure 2: Gross National Income from Macrotrends

The World Bank employs a specialised Atlas technique of

transformation in order to stabilise pricing and exchange rate movements.
It uses a transformation component which balances the rate of exchange
for a particular year and the two prior years, adjusting for variations in
growth rates among the state and, throughout the year 2000, the G-5
nations (France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United
States).

The Euro area, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States
are among these nations as of 2001. UAE GNI for 2019 was $424.76B, a
rise of 6.35 percent over 2018. UAE's gross national product increased by
7.15 percent in 2018 to $399.41 billion. 2017 UAE gross domestic product
was $372.75 billion, a 1.85% decrease from 2016. 2016 UAE gross
domestic product was $379.78 billion, a decrease of 4.35 percent from the
previous year.

16
iii. Purchasing Power Parity (PPP)

Figure 3: Purchasing Power Parity from Knoema

Saudi Arabia's PPP GDP per capita fell 4.89 percent from 49,216 to
46,811 in 2020. During 2018's 2.38 percent increase, 2020's PPP GDP per
capita fell 4.77 percent. Gross domestic product translated to worldwide
currencies applying purchasing power parity and split by population.
Global dollars have the same buying power as U.S. dollars over GDP.
Purchasing power parity (PPP) is the ratio of the number of units of nation
A's currencies required to buy the exact amount of a certain commodity
or item that one unit of country B's currencies would buy in country B.
PPPs may use any country's currency. In reality, they are frequently
calculated across several nations and stated in a single currency, using the
U.S. dollar (US$) as the basis or "numeraire" money system. The UAE's
purchasing power parity declined from 2.2 LCU per global dollar in 2019 to
2.0 in 2020. In 2020, PPP fell 15% from 2018's 5.67% increase.

17
12.0 ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES

The UAE maintains a rising per capita income and a large trading
surplus. Based on the CIA World Factbook, export growth has lowered oil and
gas's share of GDP to 30%. The UAE's oil dependency remains a long-term
concern, notwithstanding the country's diversification. Lower oil prices are
caused the UAE to slash social services. THE UAE'S Managerial Planning
FOCUSES ON Industrial Diversity, presenting the UAE as a worldwide
commerce and tourist centre, boosting industry, and generating more job
possibilities for residents by enhanced education and greater private industry
jobs.

i. Agriculture

Considering severe desert circumstances, the UAE's agriculture

industry is increasing. Advanced agriculture, large aquifers, and salinity
allow for large-scale farming. The administration promotes agricultural
with free farmland, cost assurances, and incentives. Small agricultural
flourishes in oasis and fake farms with temperature management and
infrastructure. Vegetables, watermelons, chickens, eggs, dairy items,
and fish are produced. Most significant crop is dates, produced on 40
million date palms in oases like Abu Dhabi's Liwa.

ii. Trade

UAE has always valued trade. Dubai and Sharjah relied heavily
on marine commerce with Persia, India, the Indian Ocean islands, and
the east coast of Africa. Smuggled gold into India and African slaves to
the Arab Peninsula followed the exact shipping lanes. Its enormous
terminals and airlines have several of the world's greatest equipment
and are packed with shipping and cargo aircraft delivering commodities
or performing a transit stop. Most UAE-based enterprises are
benefiting from East-West trade growth. India is the leading overseas
market for 28% of UAE enterprises, following by Saudi Arabia and
mainland China.

iii. Tourism

Dubai has been a prominent tourism attraction since the mid-

1990s. Dubai and the UAE launched an ambitious marketing push to
attract tourists. The city's structure, sophisticated transit system, high-
class hotels, retail malls, year-round sunlight, beaches, and deserts, and
Atlantis draw millions of tourists a year. Numerous visitors from the
area and abroad visit Dubai to see a post-modern metropolis, indulge,
and shop for comparatively cheap gadgets, textiles, cosmetics, shoes,
chocolates, or gold. Prostitution and sex tourism are major destinations
despite being illegal.

18
13.0 GLOBAL ECONOMIC ARRANGEMENTS

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) administers a single economic accord

among GCC nations, combined GCC economic activities, in accordance with
Gulf Economic Integration concepts and the UAE's responsibility in this sector.
The GCC is a robust economic entity founded on membership collaboration.
Check up on the execution of the GCC's comprehensive economic accord,
economic choices made by the Supreme Council, and associated cabinet
bodies, in collaboration with national agencies. Participate in GCC groups and
execute suggestions.

Article IV of the GCC's set of regulations asks for Gulf Economic

Integration as one of its key goals. To retain unification, member nations must
coordinate, integrate, and extensive reach. Additionally, increasing member
country contacts and collaboration in numerous sectors. Developing
comparable economic, financial, commercial, customs, and transport rules.
Finally, promoting science and technology growth in economic domains,
science and research, and private industry collaboration.

19
14.0 TRADING PARTNERS (IMPORT AND EXPORT)

The UAE is a melting pot of tourism, oil extraction, and intermediary

services. This country was formerly called a backwater by its current trading
partners. Diversification has been the essential to the UAE's regional and
worldwide economic stability, so they don't rely entirely on single natural
resource. Both UAE exports and imports depend largely on maritime
transportation.

14.1 United Arab Emirates Exports

Figure 4: United Arab Emirates Exports (Country) from Trading

Economics

The information presented above details the top 10 export

markets for the United Arab Emirates in the year 2020. According to the
information shown above, Saudi Arabia achieved a ranking of first place
in terms of the value of the goods and services it exported, which was
21.82 billion dollars. When it comes to conducting business with other
countries, Saudi Arabia and Iraq have often held the top two spots.
Because of the United Arab Emirates' importance in the global oil sector,
oil and other forms of petroleum are often the primary exports of both
of these nations. According to the data, several of their top ten exporting
trade partners are regions that are not located in the same region as their
other significant trading partners.

20
Figure 5: United Arab Emirates Export (Category) from Trading
Economics

The next type of data that has been presented to us tells us which
10 products dominate the export market in the United Arab Emirates. It
is common knowledge that the petroleum industry is the primary factor
behind the growth of the United Arab Emirates. In the year 2020, the oil
industry was responsible for up to 52 percent of the country's total
revenue (when combined with mineral fuels and distillation products),
that recorded 173.35 billion dollars. When it comes to the export of their
oil, Saudi Arabia holds the number one spot. The second one is all of their
valuable items, such as their pearls, precious stones, metals, and coins.
Pearls and metals are also among the primary items that are exported
from this country.
14.2 United Arab Emirates Imports

21
Figure 6: United Arab Emirates Imports (Country) from Trading
Economics

The information presented above details the top 10 countries

from which the United Arab Emirates will be importing goods in the
year 2020. When it comes to importing goods, China is currently in first
place worldwide. In the year 2020, China imported goods with a total
value of 39.37 billion dollars. When it comes to conducting business
with the United Arab Emirates in the field of importation, China is not
always rated first. In addition, trade imports come from Asian nations,
while trading exports come from the United States and many other
countries.

Figure 7: United Arab Emirates Imports (Category) from Trading

Economics

This specific table displays import trade statistics in the United

Arab Emirates organised by category. As can be seen, pearls, precious
stones, metal, and coins will have a combined worth of 52.46 billion
dollars in the year 2020 and will be mostly imported from China. These
facts shown above place mineral fuels, oils, and distillation product in
the second position.

Figure 8: Current Issue in United Arab Emirates from Gulf News

Extreme heat with dusty sky in the UAE, cloud cover and a likelihood of
rain in Fujairah and Al Ain, highest temperatures to approach 47°C, is one of
the biggest divisive topics in the United Arab Emirates. Based on the National
Center for Meteorology yesterday is hot, humid, and dusty because of the
heavy winds. There will be cloud cover and rains in several sections of the
nation.

Extreme weather events may affect huge populations for short

durations, provoke public health crises, and cause increased mortality and
cascade socioeconomic repercussions (e.g. lost work capacity and labour
productivity). Extreme weather events may impair health facilities, transport,
and water systems due to power outages. Warming affects all people. Several
communities are much more physiological or socio-economically prone to hot
stress, disease, and mortality. Most administrations are feeling the effects of
climate change as heat and climate-related calamities increase. Wildfires, heat
waves, and extreme rain/floods may impact the government billions of dollars.

If individuals do not drink enough water, they get dehydration.

Dehydration affects the whole body, not just the thirst. Dry mouth, dark urine,
dry skin, reduced urination, muscular cramps, weariness, and migraines are
dehydration symptoms. Heart or respiratory difficulties might worsen. Tingling
skin, headaches, dizziness, nausea, and a fast heartbeat rate are overheated
symptoms. Heatstroke occurs when the body cannot chill itself in hot
temperatures. Body temperature rises alarmingly. Confused, convulsions, and
unconsciousness are symptoms.

Article talks about the sweltering heat and hazy sky of the United Arab
Emirates (UAE). The author claims that warm, moist air from the surface of the
land rises over the surrounding, colder air to generate convective clouds. Cities
like Dubai and Sharjah on the coast may anticipate highs of 40 to 44 degrees
Celsius. Several coastal locations could see highs of 80-85 percent moisture on
Tuesday night and Wednesday early.

16.0 UNITED ARAB EMIRATES SWOT ANALYSIS

i. Strengths

UAE exports 22.2 million barrels of crude oil, ranking third in the
worldwide. Oil cost declines affect the market. The administration has
funded budgetary losses for decades. This is a major total foreign
investment. UAE is a net external investor. The country's cultural and
system successors are steady. In the area, hydrocarbons exist. Foreign
holdings and investments are also substantial. Firm displays net
creditor position. The industry has expanded. Dirham's reliable trade
rates and long-standing dollar fix keep inflation in check.

ii. Weakness

Emiratis have a 15% job rate. Personal workers lack

qualifications and incentive. It affords the administration large salary
and freebies. Non-democratic governmental system boosts oil
reserves. Elites keep this. Independence of speech promotes political
field reforms, that are constrained by governing families. Undoubtedly,
the nation is diverse. Transportation and tourism are expanding.

iii. Opportunities

UAE may deal with Japan, Singapore, the EU, Mercosur, India,
Turkey, China, and others. Promote European and Asian countries while
creating Middle Eastern, Indian Subcontinent, and African emerging
markets. Upcoming year could change education, medical, culture, and
tourists. Air and sea transportation, travel, financial sectors, and other
services can boost GDP.

iv. Threats

Like every oil-dependent industry, the "resource curse" applies.

Even though the UAE have diversified its industry, oil producing, and
exporting remain important. The petroleum nation is high-risk, high-
reward due to supply and demand changes. Strong decreases in
economic progress and per capita GDP show the UAE must expand its
industry. The administration understands this since the expansion
policy seeks to be completed by 2030.
