Part Numbers and Ordering
Cummins Parts Numbers

7 digit e.g. 3420000 or 4010000 (cast, stamped or marked on some parts)

Cummins Power Generation Parts Numbers
It is important to recognize that genset control components will have part
numbers that differ from the usual Cummins Engine numbers. Unlike the
seven digit Cummins Engine part numbers the Cummins Power Generation
genset part numbers are eight digits with an optional two digits. These last
two digits, where used, indicate component options or revisions.
When ordering parts, the engine and genset part orders must be placed
separately.

Parts Distribution Centers:

Lead PDC - Mechelen, Belgium (32) 15289211. Also, Memphis USA (001)
9015455600 for orders and part number inquires. General customer orders
should be via their local distributor.

Fuel: The exact composition of Natural Gas will vary slightly dependant on location. Cummins
recommend the use of Pipeline Quality fuel with a methane index > 70. The engine will operate
without de-rate on fuel that meets the specific criteria as specified in the operation and maintenance
manual.

Oil Sampling

WEAR METALS
ESTABLISH INDICATE COOLANT LEAKS
TRENDS PROBLEMS POOR AIR FILTRATION

RECTIFY

Always sample from a hot engine, before adding oil to compensate for consumption.
Use a Sterile, air tight, container (minimum 0.125ltr). Attach a label !
Take sample from the dipstick hole using a syringe and length of tube that will draw
from mid sump position.
Supply the following identification and information;
Engine make - Type - Serial No - Type of use & duty - Fuel type.
Sample date - Sample conditions (at oil change / intermediate)
Engine hours - Oil hours - Oil brand & name - Oil Viscosity
Oil top-up quantities since last oil change - Recent maintenance.

* Use de-mineralised water or drinking water as specified in the O & M manual

* Change coolant and flush system every three years

Water treatment is essential where different metals are used (steel, aluminium, etc.)
so as to prevent galvanic corrosion. Distilled water without additives absorbs carbon
dioxide from air and promotes corrosion.
Caution: It is mandatory to treat cooling water, failure to comply invalidates
warranty. The above products provide anti-corrosion layer and antifreeze protection
