COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course deals with the concepts, principles, theories
and techniques in the provision of basic care in terms of health promotion, disease
prevention, restoration and maintenance and rehabilitation at the individual and
family level. It includes the study of the Philippine Health Care Delivery System,
national health situation and the global context of public health. The learners are
expected to provide safe, appropriate and holistic nursing care to individual and
family as clients in community setting utilizing the nursing process.

Class Policies:
1. Attendance is mandatory and checked within the first 5 minutes of the
designated class schedule. A student with accumulated absences of more
than 20% of the total class hours will be dropped from the roll.
2. Maximum participation is expected in all classroom activities.
3. In all instances, respect for classmates and instructors are expected.
4. Come in proper school uniform and grooming (for face-to-face interactions).
5. Use of cell phones, tablets, and other gadgets for social and other purposes
not related to the learning material are strictly prohibited during class (for
face-to-face interactions).
6. Anyone violating these policies will be sent to the Dean’s Office for
disciplinary action.
7. All general policies of the College will also be implemented as part of the
policies for this course.
