SAFETY BRIEFING
(PF)
Any failures before V1, the command is stop. I will apply maximum reverse and upon stopping on the runway I
will set the parking brakes and announce “cabin crew and passengers remain seated” if there is no fire. If fire
is evident, I will announce “cabin crew at stations” and your actions will be?
(PM)
My actions will be to monitor deceleration, announce spoilers, reverse green, decel as applicable. And in case
we stop on the runway, I will announce “<CALLSIGN> stopping on the runway”.
(PF)
If an emergency evacuation is required, we will just take a look at the emergency evacuation checklist behind
the regular checklist.
Any failures after V1, the command is go. No actions below 400ft except silencing all oral warnings, application
of TOGA thrust which is available and raising of our landing gear. Once we are safely established on our climb,
I will call for the appropriate ECAM actions, which means I have controls and communications and you will
perform the ECAM actions. And I will do a PAN PAN PAN PAN call to tower informing them “<CALLSIGN>
engine failure” or whatever the failure may be and request to maintain a runway heading initially.
When engine is secured, stop ECAM, push to level off, accelerate and clean up. When engine is not secured,
continue climb until secured but not above engine out maximum acceleration altitude. Passing green dot,
open climb, select thrust MCT, resume ECAM, complete after takeoff checklist and read status.
For our engine out routing, (join downwind/request vectors rwy xx,). And in case of land ASAP red, immediate
(left/right) turn back to rwy xx. Or to any runway, whatever it takes.
CRM at all times and advise when there is any deviation from the standard, briefing is complete unless you
have anything to add?
