SERVICE BULLETIN

Subject: Exhaust Flapper Alignment

Affected: Capstone Model 330 MicroTurbines

Abstract: The exhaust flapper on the MicroTurbine may not

fully open if the enclosure is not completely closed.

Description: When the exhaust flapper is not properly

aligned in the center of the cutout in the
enclosure, the enclosure may interfere with
the opening of the flapper during
MicroTurbine operation. This may be
caused by a cart which is not fully pushed
into the enclosure, a bent or damaged
enclosure, or a misaligned exhaust stack.

Corrective Action: When rolling the cart back into the

enclosure, ensure that the cart is fully
inserted into the enclosure and check that
the exhaust flapper can fully open without
interfering with the enclosure.
Trouble shooting of rough or failed starts
should include an inspection of the exhaust
flapper clearance as described above.
Surfaces may be hot. Allow sufficient time
for the unit to cooldown prior to checking
the exhaust system. Isolate (turn off)
electrical power and fuel to the
MicroTurbine prior to servicing.
