tail.

Claws - one of the two pointed parts, used for holding things, at the end of the legs of some insects and
sea creatures.

Alligators - a large reptile with a hard skin that lives in and near rivers and lakes in the hot, wet parts of
America and China. It has a long nose that is slightly wider and shorter than that of a crocodile.

Creatures - used to refer to a life form that is unusual or imaginary.

Growling noises - to make a low, rough sound, usually in anger.

Echo - a sound that is heard after it has been reflected off a surface such as a wall or a cliff.

Experiment - a test done in order to learn something or to discover if something works or is true.

Some people believe that experiments on animals should be banned.

Entry - the act of entering a place or joining a particular society or organization.

A flock of sheep blocked our entry to the farm.

Lay - to put something in especially a flat or horizontal position, usually carefully or for a particular
purpose.

Roar - to make a long, loud, deep sound.

We could hear the lions roaring at the other end of the zoo.

Visible - able or likely to attract public attention and be noticed.

Gradually - slowly over a period of time or a distance.

Faded away - to slowly disappear, lose importance, or become weaker.

Nearby - not far away.

Harmless - not able or not likely to cause harm.

Bushes - a plant with many small branches growing either directly from the ground or from a hard stem,
giving the plant a rounded shape.

Spear - a weapon consisting of a pole with a sharp, usually metal, point at one end, that is either thrown
or held in the hand.

Viciousness - the quality or fact of being cruel and showing an intention to hurt or upset someone.

Confused- unable to think clearly or to understand something.

Grunting - (of a person) to make a short, low sound instead of speaking, usually because of anger or
pain.

Swooped - to move very quickly and easily through the air, especially down from a high position in order
to attack.

Yelled - to shout something or make a loud noise, usually when you are angry, in pain, or excited.
