Procedure Abaqus

The document outlines the steps to create a finite element analysis model of a beam with different loads and boundary conditions applied. It involves creating the geometry, applying materials, meshing, applying loads and boundary conditions, and solving the model to obtain results. Key steps include partitioning the beam geometry, applying steel material properties, assigning a solid homogeneous section, applying encastre and point load boundary conditions, meshing with a size of 24, submitting the job, and post-processing results.

Procedure:

1)The model was created according to the detailed specification that given.

2)After that button Done clicked and then Edit Base Extrusion Tab popped out. In this tab the depth
2400mm was used and the continued with clicking ok.

3)After that Partition Cell define Cutting are selected. The plane was specified using 3 Points method.

4)The 3 points was selected and then the partitioning process done.

5)Select both of the partition and do a new Partition Cell define Cutting process and use again the 3
Points method.

6)Then the partiotioning process done.

7)After that the module was changed to property and the “Create material” button was opened and
the name changed to Steel for its material. Hence then the mechanical button was clicked and the
elasticity and elastic chosen.

8)Then Elastic will appear inside material behavior, and settings for elastic specifications will appear.
Inside the Data the Young’s Modulus and Poisson’s Ratio then filled up. Young’s Modulus,
E= 200 000Mpa and Poisson’s Ratio= 0.3 and proceed by clicking ok.

9)Material Manager then opened to check and make sure there was Steel inside it.

10)Then opened Create Section, select category solid and homogenous type. Then continue by
selecting continue.

11)Continue with edit section type Material: Steel and as in the figure then continued by clicking ok.

12)Then opened Section Manager to check the name and type. Make sure there were solid,
homogenous inside it. After that close the Section Manager tab.
s

13) Opened Assign Section and select all the regions then continued by clicking done.

14)A tab which are Edit Section Assignment appeared, then the ok button was clicked.

15) Then the beam will appear green and clicked done.

16) Next step the module was changed to Assembly and Create Instance was opened. Select the box
for Independent (mesh on instance) and then continued by clicking ok.

17)Changed the module to Step.

18)Open Create Step. Selected Static, General and Continue.

19)Edit Step will appear and then continued by clicking ok.

20)Then open the Step Manager and check the item inside the Step Manager like shown in the
figure.

21) Then change the module to Load.

22)Opened Create Boundary Condition and use Category: Mechanical and Types for Selected Step
Symmetry/Antisymmetry/Encastre, then continue.

23)Then Select regions as both side of the beam as shown in figure and click done.
24)Then once Edit Boundary Condition appeared select ENCASTRE and click ok.

25)After that to create new load open Create Load, named it Point-Load and the types for the
selected step is Concentrated force.

26 )After that proceed by clicking continue.

27)Select Point in the middle as shown in figure and proceed by clicking Done.

28)Then the edit Load tab will appear

29)In the specification for distribution select Uniform, for CF2 the value used are -80000N because
point load value are 80kN, Amplitude (Ramp).

30)Create Load with name UDL with category mechanical and types for selected stop used is
Pressure.

31)Click continue and select all the surface of the beam.

32)Click done and select distribution uniform, magnitude 4.5, Amplitude (Ramp) and then Ok.

33)Change module to mesh and open seed part. Approximate global size chosen is 24 then click
apply and ok.

34) Change module to Job. Open Create Job. Select Model-1 and continue.

35)After that Edit job will appear. Continue by clicking OK.’

36)Go to job manager and select Job-1.

37)Click submit
38)Left the job Running as shown in figure until the status changes to Completed.

39)After Completed click Results.

40)Then change the following part as shown in figure above the figure above

41)After that all the result of the seven different view was screenshooted as below.
42)Results of all 7 different views.
