Learning Activities
Checkpoints where the place where the military or police check vehicular or pedestrian
traffic in order to circulate control measures and other laws, orders and regulation which
involves only a brief detention of traveler during which the vehicle’s occupants are required to
answer a brief question or two. It involves the setup of a hasty roadblock by mobile truck or
armored vehicle-mounted infantry to disrupt unauthorized or unwanted movement or military
activity and to check for valid identification and search for contraband, fugitives or weapons
that are not permitted in civilian hands.
In checkpoints, police generally arrest impaired drivers detected at checkpoints and
publicized those arrests. Checkpoints may also be used to check for valid driver’s licenses,
seat belt use, outstanding warrants, stolen vehicles, and others traffic and criminal infractions.
Also, sobriety checkpoints, is strong and effective, but use is limited. It is substantial and
consistent evidence that highly publicized, highly visible and frequent.
Checkpoints is to setup in order to control an area or to create an interposition layout
between two opponent groups and its goal is to stop the freedom of movement of goods and
persons. It is also important to deter impaired driving not to increase arrest.
