 Introduc-on

This pracUce for hooking back the life force is part of the Yuthok
Nyingthig ‘Long Life Empowerment that Vanquishes the Lord of Death’.
It is a very special pracUce to call back the wandering !་ la (life force), ཚ$་
tsé (life span), and %ོག་ sog (vital force). It can be performed for others or
for oneself [see footnote on page eleven for instrucUons on how to
alter the text accordingly].

UUlizing a datar (long life arrow) with five colored ribbons (blue, white,
yellow, red, and green) represenUng the five elements (space, water,
earth, fire, and wind), one visualizes oneself as Long-Life Hayagriva and
Vajravarahi in union. Calling upon the four dakinis and their special
acUviUes (pacifying, increasing, controlling, and destroying), one hooks
back the lost life force from the ten direcUons ([the sky] above, [the
earth] underneath, the four cardinal and inter-cardinal direcUons.) The
result is restored physical and energeUc health and vitality, prolonged
life span, and increased clarity and happiness in the mind.

[Having imagined that] from the hearts of the assembly of deiUes khye par dak gi la tse yar dang khyam
supreme emanated messengers And especially one’s own life-force and life-span wandering about

སྐུ་མདོག་མ་ངེས་དར་དང་རིན་ཆེན་རྒྱན། ཐམས་ཅད་ཡི་གེ་ཎྲི་ཡི་ཚུལ་དུ་བཀུག།

Pervade everywhere, in every cardinal and inter-cardinal direcUon,

སྟོང་གསུམ་མ་ལུས་ཁམས་གསུམ་སྲིད་པ་གསུམ།

tong sum ma lü kham sum si pa sum
Imagine that they dissolve back into you and that you obtain the siddhi
[Having perceived that] the collected life-spans of the three thousand-
of deathlessness.

The HUNG which is the condensed glory of the supreme speech of the དབུགས་ལེན་གཤེད་མའི་སྲོག་རྩ་དམར་པོ་ཆོད།

Cut the red life-channels of the execuUoner-spirits who take away the
རྟ་ཕག་ཡབ་ཡུམ་དབང་གི་ལས་མཛད་གཙོ། breath!

The principle magneUzing acUviUes of Father Hayagriva and Mother ཡོན་བདག་བླ་ཚེ་འཁྱམས་པོ་ད་ལྟ་ཁུག།

Having come forth at this Ume along with your emanaUons, secondary rin chen khandro chak kyu ser bum dzin
emanaUons and all their reUnues who conduct pacifying acUons O Jewel-Dakini who holds the iron hook and golden vase
— fulfill your pledges!

ཤར་དང་ཤར་ལྷོའི་ཕྱོགས་ནས་ཚེ་ཁུག་ཅིག། gye pe le dze trül pa yang trül che khor che tuk dam zhel zhe dü la bap
Having come forth at this Ume along with your emanaUons, secondary
shar dang shar lhö chok ne tse khuk chik
emanaUons and all their reUnues who conduct increasing acUons
Hook back the life-span from the Eastern and South-Eastern direcUons!
— fulfill your pledges!

ལྷོ་དང་ལྷོ་ནུབ་ཕྱོགས་ནས་ཚེ་ཁུག་ཅིག།

འཆི་བདག་བདུད་ཀྱི་ཕོ་ཉ་རྡུལ་དུ་རློགས།
Drowa chik kyang ma lü pa
chi dak dü kyi po nya dül du lok And through this, may all beings,
Crush into dust the demonic emissaries of the Lord of Death!
དེ་ཡི་ས་ལ་འགོད་པར་ཤོག།
སྲོག་གཅོད་ལྷ་འདྲེའི་མགོ་བོ་ཚལ་པར་ཁོས།
De yi sa la gö par shok
sok chö lha dre gowo tsel par khö Be placed on this level.
Chop into pieces the heads of the devas [samsaraic devas and demi-
gods] and demons who cut the vital-force! (1x)

དབུགས་ལེན་གཤེད་མའི་སྲོག་རྩ་དམར་པོ་ཆོད།
uk len she me sok tsa mar po chö
Cut the red life-channels of the execuUoner-spirits who take away the breath!

ཡོན་བདག་བླ་ཚེ་འཁྱམས་པོ་ད་ལྟ་ཁུག། ཅས་ཚེ་འགུགས་བྱེད།
yön dak la tse khyam po da ta khuk che tse guk je

To the secret union of all buddhas of the three Umes,

བླ་མ་སྨན་པའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་གཡུ་ཐོག་པར།།
La ma men pe gyel po yu tok par
To the Guru Yuthok, the King of Medicine,

སྙིང་ཁོང་རུས་པའི་གཏིང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས།།
Nying khong rü pe -ng ne sölwa dep
I pray from the depths of my heart and bones:

སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབ་པ་དང་།།
Ku sung tuk kyi jin gyi lop pa dang
Bless me through your body, speech and mind,

མཆོག་དང་ཐུན་མོང་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩལ་དུ་གསོལ།།
Chok dang tün mong ngö drup tsel du söl
Grant me the supreme and common siddhis.
