2021 HCD Teambuilding Proposal

Dates: 29th June – 1st July 2021


Venue: Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort and Spa Mombasa.

Background:
This program was developed to ensure the Covid-19 health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to during the
planning and execution of The River Tree Company Teambuilding programs.

Duration:
Our work plan is simple. With our team of facilitators we will conduct the above training for three days.

Framework:
The framework we will use is simple and straight forward. Each session will have a sanitation break to ensure all
participants maintain high levels of hygiene. We encourage participants to have two spare face masks to minimize
spread of pathogens through contact from person to person. We shall have a dedicated facilitator monitoring use
of shared equipment and ensuring sanitizing happens immediately after use of such props.

• Professional Etiquette
• Conflict resolution
• Leadership Development
• Teambuilding
• Emotional Intelligence
• Change Management

Other areas to be covered during the retreat may include


 Ways of creating a healthy and fulfilling work environment by developing a warm and positive organization
culture
 Different motivating factors and how they work for different individuals
 How every single employee contributes to the bottom line through the day’s topic
METHODOLOGY & PROGRAM DELIVERY METHOD

The program will be conducted on participatory and experiential basis with indoor and outdoor facilitator led
sessions. We will structure the team-building program making sure that all individuals participate in the fun activities
and are involved in discussing the key thematic issues.

PROPOSED TEAMBUILDING PROGRAM:


Program Facilitation and Group Management
Our team of seasoned facilitators will ensure the participants are placed in appropriate teams and evenly mixed,
depending on the activity and associates present. Below is our proposed list of activities for the two days of the
outdoor program with some key points that can be addressed.

Participants will share their expectations for the day and

 30 Count – a success This is a leadership activity to help probe into how we


principle approach goals in the face of Change and different life
 Break out session situations, from pressure, crises, discouragement,
stereotypes, loss, success, conflict etc.
12:15PM: Engaging participants in team formation, Creation of a
 Jitambulishe team symbol, team values and team motto, creating a team
 Flag making identity that resonates with the organization vision and
 Group photo mission.
1:00PM: LUNCH BREAK
2:00PM Team activities These puzzle activities will be used to provoke the

discussion on planning, timelines, strategic planning and

4:00PM The facilitator will debrief the activity and help the team

through of the learning’s for the day.
TEA BREAK AND FINAL DEBRIEF

30th June

6:15am Morning workout Optional refreshing sunrise beach jog and stretches
7:30am BREAKFAST
9:00am Icebreaker A brief ice breaker to get the team into the mood and give
 Juices up direction to the plenary session. It will address ambitions
 Balloon dreams and dreams and how to achieve personal goals and dreams.

9:15am Indoor Session 1- - Effective steps in Changing an Organization’s


Culture
- Challenges in culture change
- A Case study in culture change
10:30am TEA BREAK

11:00am Teasers and Puzzles


Indoor Session 2 This session will involve a practical activity that will speak
 Decipher about emotional intelligence from a leadership perspective.
 Breakout session This session will have participants identifying aspects of
communication that can be improved within the
organization by effectively applying the aspects of
emotional intelligence learned.
12:00pm The participants will be placed in a game of
 Management game communication. Roles will be created and tasks will be
assigned to these roles. Changes/ Bottle necks will be put
in place imitate existing challenges. These will then be
compared to processes and systems that exist at work and
how these can be adjusted to facilitate effective
communication vertically and horizontally.
1:00pm LUNCH BREAK

2:00pm Culture Creation Here participants will explore creative ways of creating a
culture and this will be through use of paints and brushes
where they will adorn a colleague in cultural marks.
Culture Pendulum A funny activity to demonstrate the challenges of sustaining
a good culture. The adorned participant will sit at the
bottom of a water balloon pendulum and avoid having the
cultural marks washed away based on their colleagues
guidance. It will definitely leave the team roaring with
laughter.
3:30 pm
Final Debrief and 3point culture action plan creation
3:30pm The fun begins here with a series of exciting and fun
 Pool Activity activities in the pool, this will be necessary to promote team
spirit and ensure participants cool off from a day of fun in
the sun.
4:00pm TEA BREAK AND CLOSURE

1st July

7:30am BREAKFAST
9:00am Zumba fun dance This will help the team warm up and create a fun mood
ready for the day’s program.
Indoor Session 1 Professional Etiquette : The 15 MUST DO’s for
executives.
This is a trust activity that emphasizes that real success is
 Trust angle only achievable in an environment of trust. A change
process will be sabotaged in an environment that lacks
trust.
10:30am Tea break

11:00am Teasers and Puzzles This activity will guide the conversation of the day. They
 Memory Game will engage the aspects of focus, eliminating side shows and
distractions at work, ownership especially of mistakes,
leadership, capacity building, teamwork and trust.
 2 legged tower These are exciting competitive games to wind up the
 Waiter race teambuilding. They will foster unity, teamwork, fun in the
 Ping pong shuffle workplace, coordination, synergy and creativity.

1:00pm LUNCH BREAK

2:00pm Crisis and Crunch This activity looks at preparation for a crisis and being
innovative as we look at an uncertain business future.
Aspects of planning and creativity are also touched.
Cotton treasure hunt A funny activity to get the team all laughing and excited. It
discusses creative ways to get colleagues to accomplish
tasks, it also discusses the role of leadership and how
effective communication can improve delivery.
4:00PM TEA BREAK AND FINAL DEBRIEF

PLEASE NOTE: In the case of bad weather, a corresponding indoor program is available for the team and can be
availed upon request.
Participants will be reminded often on the need to keep masks on and sanitize their hands to ensure a working and
playing space that’s comfortable for all.

Dress code: Participants should dress in comfortable sports gear. track suits, T-shirts and comfortable trousers and sneakers or
comfortable hiking or canvas shoes. A baseball cap, beach shorts, sun screen >SPF 30, straw hat and sun glasses will do to shield from
the sun and relieve from heat. Extra face masks are welcome. We look forward to gracing your retreat with professional, creative

PLEASE NOTE:

The list of activities is a guideline; the facilitators may adjust activities at their discretion based on prevailing
circumstances and the nature of the team participating. Facilitators will debrief the experiences at appropriate times
in the course of the program with a final debrief session for feedback at the end of the day.
