Your Opportunity for Financial Success with

Bonika Shears Updated May 2022

Thank you so much for your interest in earning serious income through Bonika Shears.
Whether you want to start a new business or you have an ongoing business in the industry,
we are here to help. Your focus could be on stylists, groomers, barbers or all three. Whatev-
er it is, we’ve been where you are and know what it’s like in this adventure. We are here with
the tools to help your business grow.

If you are already a sharpener, you can begin right now selling Bonika Shears. It only takes the purchase of just
one shear! There is no big “buy in.” Check the prices on the www.bonika.com website. Your price is 50% off the
internet prices in most cases. We also supply sharpening supplies and advanced training.

If you are not yet a sharpener, we encourage you to explore the sharpening business. It can be a stand alone
business or combined with scissor sales. We can help you get started in both areas. We have found shear sharpen-
ing and shear sales go hand in hand. Sharpening coupled with shear sales will increase your revenue in both areas.

Read on through this literature and jot down questions you have. We will probably give you a call to see how we can
help. Also, please don’t hesitate to call, email or text us. We are really friendly people here at Bonika.

Gene was excellent in explaining the business side of sharpening
as well as shear sales. Bob

Thank you for the wonderful experience at your headquarters. The training was very professional and in
a comfortable setting. Marty

The salons that I visit are very reluctant to trust a “new guy” but are delighted at how well their shears
Mystie can cut when I finish! My referral rate from satisfied customers is very high. ...I do thank you, all of
you, for teaching me good basics and skills and for providing me with good tools. Jerry

We Are Family
Our business began in 1988 and has operated as a family owned and run business. The opportunity you have with
Bonika provides a quality of life that is outstanding for families and singles alike. We have a A+ rating with the
Greater Atlanta Better Business Bureau. Following our company mission statement we strive to glorify Christ as our

or individual is without fault or unjustified gossip, even our competitors verify the integrity of the Bonika family.

Bonika Shears Is the Total Package

Bonika will help you earn more by offering both sales and service to your customers. You will be able to provide
them with both skilled sharpening and top quality shears. The opportunity is now since large supply houses are rely-
ing on their websites and cutting back on salon reps. It is easy to call in your order to Bonika or place it using your
secure password via www.bonika.com . Orders are shipped quickly to you or direct to your customer. Bonika helps
you to make the most of your opportunities while you are in the salon.

This is a Recession / Inflation / Pandemic Proof Business

Women and men in the poorest sections of the community, even if they are out of work, will find the money to get a
haircut. People also put a high priority on having their dogs professionally groomed. Where there are hair cuts,
there are haircutters. Where there are haircutters, there are scissors. Where there are scissors, someone must sell
them and sharpen them. The years 2020 and 2021 were tough years for most businesses. However, the salons
snapped back quickly and the dog grooming business actually boomed. Many sharpeners reported record business
even during the pandemic.

Why You Should Have a

Shear Sharpening Business
Sharpeners earn a large income for small time and money invested
According to our surveys, those who specialize in beauty shear sharpening charge $30.00 per pair with $20.00 to
$35.00 as the normal range. The average salon has 6.3 stylists and the average stylist has 4 shears. That means
most salons have the potential of 25 shears to sharpen. Using conservative numbers, assume you have 200 salons
as clients. (That is roughly equivalent to less than 10% of the salons in Nashville, TN.) If you sharpened just 5 of
those shears 3 times per year at a low, $30 each, the annual income would be $90,000.00. When you calculate that
the average sharpener we have trained makes half their income selling shears means you could realistically
expect to make over some serious income. We don’t guarantee these results, but evaluate your area’s potential
and do the math.

The start-up investment is low

Because of the large potential income in this business it is best to start out with the right equipment and the right
training. Unsuccessful sharpeners are often people who started with inadequate equipment and insufficient
training. Others have simply paid for the most expensive equipment and training they could find then discovered
later that they, too, had inadequate equipment, insufficient training coupled with insurmountable debt.

We sell and recommend the Scimech HD Scissor Flathone for sharpening beauty and grooming shears. When
you include training and all the supplies to keep you going for a few months the initial start-up cost is less than
$5,000. When sharpening at $30 per shear it will often take less than a month to recoup your investment. If you add
clipper blade sharpening and shear sales to your package, the cost will increase, but so will your return.

Anyone can learn to sharpen

Shear sharpeners come from all ages and walks of life. Problem solving, logic, intelligence, people skills and desire
to make money are more important than hand and eye coordination. We have trained individuals with learning disa-
bilities and various physical handicaps to become sharpeners. It is easy to learn but challenging enough that given
a whole lifetime you will feel there is more to know.

We at Bonika Shears want you to be successful because your success is what makes us successful.

Why we sell and recommend the Scimech HD Flathone

During the many years we have been in business, I have had the
privilege of sharpening shears and training sharpeners on a variety
of machines. I can without hesitation say I have never found a ma-
chine that does a better job of sharpening our Bonika Shears or any
other shears for that matter than the Scimech Scissor Sharpening
Flathone. The fact that it is the easiest and most versatile of all the
machines to use, as well as the most economical, makes me love
and appreciate this little powerhouse of a machine every day I use it.

In 2012 when I was traveling to St. Lou-

is to certify in sharpening at the Nation-
al Beauty Tools Sharpeners Guild I
put my Scimech machine in the back of
the truck. On the way there, we hit a
bump in the road which opened the
back latch and my Scimech with everything else went flying out bouncing down the
street. We lost other equipment that day; a sound system and a clipper blade machine.
The handle was bent and two feet knocked off my Scimech. However, other than that,
my Scimech still worked beautifully. I went on to St. Louis. Using that same Scimech
that bounced down the road, I became the first woman to certify in first place in any
national shear sharpening competition.

Why You Should Sell Shears

It is truly a matter of “show and sell” when it comes to making money selling shears. If you have the items they
need, it is a simple matter of showing them and they will sell themselves.

You will find it easy to make the hair stylist happy with Bonika Shears. You will feel confi-
dent that you have the best quality shears for the price. It will be easy for stylists and
groomers to find the perfect shear from Bonika’s wide selection of styles and price levels.
They will be thrilled to know that they have a full life time warranty and accidental damage
warranty no matter who they use for sharpening.

In most cases your order is shipped the same day or even drop shipped to your mail order
and internet customers. Satisfaction is guaranteed and you can exchange or return anything.

When you sell the Bonika brand of shears your profits are high. You can match our compa-
ny’s “sale price” and still double your money. Our “Minimum Advertised Price” policy means
you will not be in a price war with other sharpeners who also sell Bonika Shears. Your
wholesale is generally 50% off the internet sale price. In addition to the Bonika Shears brand
we also provide Jaguar, Aichi and other brands of shears. You can order not only shears but
other items for resale like razors, combs and more.

Promote and sell while in the salon sharpening, through your social media and website (we drop ship at no extra
charge). We provide inexpensive quality brochures to leave with your customer. Take advantage of our distributor /
sharpener look-up on the Bonika.com website. When we come to shows in your area, you are welcome to come
along and pass out your business cards for follow-up purchasing.

Most people start with the Professional Shear Sales Kit

When you purchase $1000.00 of Bonika shears or the $999.00 sales-
man kit you receive GOLD LEVEL pricing for one year. That is an
additional 25% off the wholesale. Buy a minimum of $1000.00 the next
year and stay at the GOLD LEVEL. Gold level enjoys a 62 1/2% profit.

This Gold Level package includes an assortment of Bonika Shears,

razors, combs and scissor cases selected based on your geographic
area, desires and needs. Items can be exchanged later. Includes a
deluxe salesman display case, 3 marketing video links and 25 bro-
chures. Approximate resale value $2700.00 Just $999.00

Other Salesmen kits include:

• 7 shear kit $479.00
• 20 shear kit $1399.00

Sharpening
Equipment

Our Scimech HD Flathone will sharpen beauty, barber, and grooming shears as well as surgical tools, fabric scis-
sors, curved scissors, pinking shears, industrial shears, knives and more. However, you can charge more to sharp-
en beauty shears. Using a flathone type system is recommended for all beauty shears. We think the Scmech is the
best of the flathone systems. The strong torque, low vibration, superior USA workmanship, precise ergonomic
clamping system and design makes it the machine of choice. You’ll find with the Scimech HD, that no matter what
tools you are sharpening, you can work in a relaxed position by switching to either the vertical or horizontal position
allowing you to stand or sit according to your preference or mood.

• Precise variable speed dial with clock-wise and coun-

ter clockwise rotation for left or right handed shears.
Sharpens left and right handed shears with almost no
adjustment.

• Sharpen with the shears together or apart.

• Removeable splatter guard for long shears
and for cleaning.
• Easy to use for both left and right handed
sharpeners.
• Easy to transport and sharpen inside the
salon.
• Sharpen all types of edges, all types of
shears.

• The Scimech clamp can rotate smoothly through the entire face of
the blade for full precise convexing and polishing.
• There is no weight on your hand since the clamp and shear rest on
the arm and you merely rotate the blade. Some sharpening equip-
ment say their clamp mirrors free-hand sharpening. Free-hand sharp-
ening can cause damage to the small nerves in the hand.
• Sharpen any radius on a shear blade. There is no optimum single
radius that is best on every shear.
• The design of the Scimech HD clamp is 25% more accurate using
digital mathematical angles on the dial. The newly adjustable detant
sets exacting angles. Set the angle quickly and easily for a precise
repeatable angle position.
• New 2022 design improvement for a smoother rotation of the clamp and the arm.

made quality machine and ships from The Edge Pro in Iowa.

Training is in a relaxed atmosphere taught to your learning style, experience and aptitude. Dress comfortably, wear
your glasses if you require them, bring some salon or groomer shears or blades if you have any. (We provide prac-
tice scissors, but you may want to have more).

Payment Options
Most students pay with major credit cards when they arrive. Please inform your credit card company you
will be making a major purchase in Loganville, GA so that there will be no glitches in processing your
card. You may also pay with cash, cashier’s checks or money orders. Wire transfers or PayPal are op-
tions as well as Cash Ap and Venmo.

There may be extra expenses for freight if we ship your machine to you. Transportation for training and
hotel accommodations are not included and Georgia residents will be charged sales tax. Prices are sub-
ject to change without notice.

A person observing is free. Each additional hands-on student for shears is $300.00 and another clipper
blade student is $100 each.
