    Controllable Pitch Propeller Systems
    SMPNGC have manufactured more than 850
    controllable pitch propellers in past 12 years.
    Today the NCP controllable pitch propeller
    handles engine outputs up to 25000kW.
    The basic design principles are well proven, have
    been operated in all types of vessels including
    offshore vessels, tankers, dredgers, ferries,
    container and navy ships.
    CP propeller features an integrated servo motor
    located in the after part of the hub and sturdy
    designed internal components. A well-
    distributed range of different hub sizes makes it
    possible to select an optimum hub for any given
    combination of power, revolutions and ice class.

    Material of hub and blades: nickel-aluminum bronze or stainless

    Feather type propeller
    To improve flexibility for ships equipped with a twin propeller
    solution, SMPNGC added the feathered features to the NCP hub.
    In an emergency situation or low ship speed, one of the
    propellers can be stopped and put into a feathered position. This
    way, the drag of propeller is minimized and the result is a fuel
    saving.

    OD Gearbox
    Gearbox mounted ODG type
    The gearbox mounted unit consists oil distribution ring and pitch feed-
    back meter. Via the OD-ring, high pressure oil is supplied to one side of the
    servo piston and the other side to the drain.
    The drained oil from the oil distribution is led back to the hydraulic power
    unit tank.

    Shaft mounted ODS type


    The shaft mounted OD box is suitable for direct-driven systems and for
    extremely long shaft lines.

    Design
    A SMPNGC propulsion package, is including both
    hardware and mechanical design. Based on our

    how to design the shaft line and stern tube to a
