1. BACKGROUND
The project is situated in Kathmandu Valley of Nepal.
This report consists of structural analysis and design of a Reinforced Cement Concrete
chamber in a summarized form. A set of analysis and design sheet is included in the report.
The analysis and design has been based on Indian Standard Codes IS 456, IS 1893:2016,
IS3370 etc.

6. DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURE

6.1. DESIGN PARAMETERS

The structure is embedded underground over the soil having safe bearing
capacity of 100 kN/m2. The concrete grade is M25 and the reinforcement used is
TMT 500.

6.2. DESIGN METHODOLOGY

The walls are modeled as shell elements and analyzed using the software SAP
2000 using Limit State Design approach. The responses are observed and
checked for all load cases and load combinations. The seismic load is applied as
per IS 1893: 2016. The concrete wall is further checked for crack width as per IS
3370 Part II.
