1. Introduction.
Beginning with MY'81 production of the Cessna Model R/TR-182 Aircraft, the
400B Autopilot, Type AF-550A, is approved for use in these aircraft. This
autopilot configuration is similar to that used in the Series 210 Aircraft
and described in Supplement 2 to the 400B Autopilot Service/Parts Manual
and in Service Information Letter AV79-40 (ARC Tech Aid No. 87). Equipment
approved and supplied for the R/TR-182 configuration is listed in Table 1
of this bulletin. Also, a new Mount Locking Tool, ARC P/N 49688-0000, is
available for servicing PA-495(*) Actuator mounts.

2. Equipment Differences.
Pitch Trim Assembly A6.1 and Roll Relay Assembly A10.1 are new
configurations and are fully covered in this bulletin. For
complete information for Pitch Assembly Al.l, refer to Cessna
Service Information Letter AV78-21 (ARC FESB No. 207) and to the
difference information in this bulletin. For information for
Radio Assembly A3.1, refer to AV79-9 (ARC Tech Aid No. 60); for
information for VOR/LOC Assembly A7.1, refer to Supplement 2 to
the service/parts manual. Difference information from that given
in the service/parts manual and supplements for Roll Assembly A5.1,
CRS Washout Assembly A9.1, and Attitude Limiter Assembly A18 is
presented in this bulletin.
The IAS circuit has also been deleted on the Roll Assembly for the
Model 182 configuration. The following components are not used on
ARC P/N 46592-0002: C4, Q1, Q2, R21, R36, and R41.
The IAS circuit has also been deleted on the CRS Washout Assembly
for the Model 182 configuration. The following components are not
used on ARC P/N 46236-0004: C4, C5, Q1, Q2, Q3, R45, R46, R47,
R48, R49, R50, R51, CR2, and CR3. The variable connection for R32
is connected to pin 9 of U2B (shown by "O's" on the Service/Parts
Manual Supplement 2 schematic diagram, Figure 6-9A).
a. Fuse F1, 3 amperes, ARC P/N 36968-3000, has been added in the
+28V input line at P1-12.
b. The leads of C7, C8, and R16 have been reconnected from pitch
signal common ( ) to power ground ( ).
7. Pitch Trim Assembly A6.1 and Roll Relay Assembly A10.1 Information.
The Pitch Trim Assembly and Roll Relay Assembly used in a code-0009
computer amplifier are new assemblies. They functionally replace the
A6 and A10 assemblies. A schematic diagram of Pitch Trim Assembly A6.1
is shown in Figure 1, a parts location diagram is shown in Figure 2, and
the component parts are listed in Table 2. A schematic diagram of Roll
Relay Assembly A10.1 is shown in Figure 3, a parts location diagram is
shown in Figure 4, and the component parts are listed in Table 3.
a. General.
Step 14. ".... DVM should indicate +2.75± 0.42Vdc (code -0007),
or +3.33± 0.55Vdc (code -0009)."
PAGE 5 TECH AID NO. 120
Step 19 and Step 20: At the end of Step 19 and Step 20, respec-
tively, add: "(code -0007 only)."
Change Steps 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 20, 25, 26, 27, and 28 as
follows:
Step 25. ".... DVM should indicate +2.73± 0.4Vdc (code -0007),
or +2.49± 0.35Vdc (code -0009) within 20 seconds."
Step 26. ".... DVM should indicate +1.81± 0.27 within 20 seconds
(code -0007 only)."
Step 27. "Center RADIO DEVIATION Control R4. For code -0009 only,
readjust R2 until DVM indicates -0.55Vdc at J1-21/J2-17.
With DVM connected between J3-3 and J1-21, DVM should
indicate the following voltages:
Step 28. "... S16 in NAV position. For code -0009 only, readjust
R2 until DVM indicates -1.1Vdc at J1-21/32-17. With DVM
connected between J3-3 and J1-21, DVM should indicate the
following voltages:
NOTE: For all computers MOD 15 and later, the Meter Function
Select Switch on the H-43A should be set to "RADIO
DEVIATION 200mV" to assure stable loading during the
VOR/LOC and glide slope deviation tests.
Refer to Service Information Letter AV79-9 and make sure the
changes to the "VOR/LOC Deviation Test" described in paragraph
3a and 3b of the bulletin are incorporated in Paragraph 2C-12.
Then change Steps 12, 13, 15, 16, 19, 20, 22, and 23 as follows:
Make sure the changes to the "VOR Track Test" from AV79-9 (para-
graph 3c) are incorporated in Paragraph 2C-13, then change Steps
13, 16, 21, and 25 as follows:
Step 28. ".... DVM will indicate -2.5Vdc after 10.7+2 seconds
(code -0007), or 14.6+3 seconds (code -0009)."
Step 36. "DVM will indicate +2V after 20.3+4 seconds (code -0007),
or 25.6+5 seconds (code -0009)."
Step 11. ".... DVM should indicate +0.39± .06Vdc (code -0007),
or +0.37±0.06Vdc (code -0009)."
