ObjectiveoftheArticle
The researcher considers and investigates the significant components of
organizational behavior in an actual commercial retail store located in Colombia.The
purpose of the research is to study a current organizational behavior case of an
actualretailstorelocatedinColombia,highlightingthetheoreticalfoundationsofthe
organizational behavioral research, measuring and analyzing the behavior of the
individuals while facing changes in the environment, and defining practical
implications for the entrepreneurs.
Methodology
Theresearcheranalyzestheorganizationalbehaviorofabusinessunitatoneofthe largest
retail chains in Colombia using a case study by applying a structured questionnaire in
the company.
To obtain the information, a structured questionnaire of 44 questions was carried out
using the method proposed by Robbins and Judge (2013).All items were measured
using a Likert scale with values ranging from 1 (totally disagree) to 5 (totally agree).
The questionnaire was applied to the Molyntix interest group, which included
commercialdirectorsofeachcategory,customsagency,internationalcargoagentand
operators.
AnalysisofResults
Theresultsobtainedforeachofthefactors-attitudes,motivations,jobsatisfaction,
perceptions, emotions and decision making of Molyntix are discussed as follow:
Attitudes(Average3.6):Theresultsshowthattheindividualsinthebusinessprocess of the
company are not completely satisfied with their assigned work and their involvement
in the organizational decisions.

Motivation (Average 4.2): The individuals involved in the business process in
Molyntixshowagoodlevelofmotivationwhichinvolvesintensity,directionand
persistence of the individual's effort towards achieving a goal.
JobSatisfaction(Average4.2):Thisfactorinvolvesseveralelementsandtheresults show a
good level of job satisfaction among the employees of Molyntix.
Perception(Average3.8):Theperceptionfactorshowsthatthepersonnelinvolvedin the
business process in Molyntix does not correctly perceive and interpret the different
situations presented at work.
Decision-Making (Average 4.3): The results show that employees are skillful in
decision making. They are good at analyzing the situation, staying bias alert,
combiningrationalanalysiswithintuitionandmaintaininghighlevelsofcreativity.
ConclusionsandRecommendations
Theresearcherrecommendsdesigningacommunicationplanforalltheorganization levels
for a better implementation of current and future projects and creating safe spaces for
communication to promote integration, personal and professional development, and
employees’recognition, in order to generate favorable changes in the organizational
behavior of workers involved in the process.

2. Theapplicationoftheideasofthearticleinworkplaces
The study of Organizational Behavior provides managers with challenges that can be
considered as opportunities for business growth. The research work under review
concluded that the success of the company is influenced by factors such as
motivation,jobsatisfaction,emotionsanddecisionmaking,indicatingthatperception
factors and attitudes need reinforcement.
Such researches and their findings could be used by practitioners of the business
world to improve the overall performance of their organisation by studying the
behavior of their employees. Such researches can be used to improve employees’
productivity, as it teaches managers how to treat their staff and understand how to
implement change programs.Also, it helps employees balance between work and
theirlives.Inaddition,suchworksoffersmanagersausefulguidetocreateahealthy work
environment by stimulating the innovation of their employees.
3. LimitationsoftheArticle
There are some limitations to this study and one is the study is limited to observation
of individuals behavior neglecting the effect of group/team interaction on behavior of
individuals. The other limitation is the absence of moderating variables in accessing
the relationship between attitudes and behavior. Recent research indicates that
attitudes (A) significantly predict behaviors (B) when moderating variables are taken
intoaccount.Thissurveyquestionercanbecombinedwithothermorecomprehensive
instruments to enhance and confirm the results.
4. Conclusion
The study presented in this article clearly suggests that, the success of company’s
businessprocessisinfluencedbyfavorablecharacteristicsoforganizationalbehavior. In
both theoretical and practical contexts it is important to understand how and why
such individual employees’behaviors affect organizational behavior.
Hencethestudyunderreviewhaditsownpracticalandtheoreticalcontributioninthe field of
Organizational Behavior and Management.
