In line with the DepEd memorandum No. 109 , s. 2020, the teaching staff of Puro Elementary
School will be having an alternative fitness program like “Zumba” in support to Gender and Development
Program and in compliance with the SHIELD plus Six-point Leadership Agenda for 2020-2022, specifically
“health programs responsive to evolving needs,” this is the Division mandates to observe of “Healthy ang
Weekdays Ko”. This program aims to provide time to DepEd employees to be conscious in taking care of their
health aspect through simple acts and establish a healthy routine among DepEd employees, contributory to
their health aspect for them to be of better service to the clients. In connection to this program we are asking
permission to allow us to perform the Zumba dance every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (MWF) for only 30
minutes each day. Time started 4:00 – 4:30 in the afternoon. It is fun and enjoyable exercises. Here are the
following health benefits of Zumba:
 It’s fun. The more you enjoy your exercises routine, the more likely you are stick with it. Many people
say they have so much fun dancing that they forget they actually exercising.
 Great for weight loss. Zumba is a powerful exercises with 600 to 1,000 calorie burn in just an hour.
 Tones your entire body. You may feel sore in places you never knew existed, but it gets results. Zumba
targets lots of different muscle groups at once for total body toning.
 Boost your heart health. You not only get aerobic benefit (it really gets your heart rate up), you also
get anaerobic benefits- the kind that help you maintain a good cardiovascular respiratory system.
 Helps you de-stress. Turning your attention to dance, and away from the daily grind, is a great way to
relieve stress. Studies show that exercise is very effective at reducing fatigue, improving alertness and
concentration, and enhancing overall cognitive function.
 Improves coordination. In Zumba, your arms and legs are generally moving in different directions so it
requires a good deal of coordination. Repeated practice improves coordination and helps you feel
comfortable moving your body.
 Makes you happy. Every time you exercise, you release endorphins which trigger positive feeling
throughout the body.

In connection of the DepEd Memorandum No. 109, s. 2020 , with the title “Healthy ang
Weekdays ko” all teaching staff of Puro Elementary School are advise to participate our alternative
fitness program like ”Zumba” every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (MWF)at 4:00 – 4:30 in the
afternoon in order to support the Gender and Development program and in compliance with the
SHIELD plus Six-point Leadership Agenda for 2020-2022, specifically “health program responsive to
evolving needs,” this is the Division mandates to observe of “Healthy ang Weekdays Ko”. This
program aims to provide time to DepEd employees to be conscious in taking care of our health
aspect through simple acts and stablish a healthy routine among DepEd employees, contributory to
your health aspect for you to be a better service to the client.

Wear your comfortable outfit during our Zumba dance, and bring also your water tumbler,
towel etc.
