Interview Questions
1. Tell me about yourself and your qualifications?
○ First of all, thank you for allowing me to be interviewed
today for our internship. I am Francine Margareth N.
Nasalita, a twelfth grader from 12- GAS B in this same
school. I honestly have been looking for a company or at least
an office that can help me sharpen my skills, and I know that
I will be able to achieve this with your guidance. I have
always been a good student and a leader, as well as a
consistent honor student who is hoping to graduate with
flying colors in my last year in high school. Aside from being
hardworking, my three best qualifications are that I am
patient, positive, and resilient, which is why I can handle
difficult situations at times. I am very patient to the point that
I will do everything efficiently and effectively, taking my
time just to finish all tasks successfully. I do not rush things
because I always trust the whole process, even if it seems like
I am not making any progress. I remain positive at all times,
believing that everything will happen just like how I want
them to. Lastly, I am resilient as I can quickly adapt to
difficult experiences no matter where you place me.
2. What makes you unique?
○ What makes me unique from the other candidates is the
qualities that I have. Firstly, judging by the attitude of today’s
generation, I am sure that some of them only seek the job
simply for the job. What I mean here is that they seek it only
because they need it. I am unique because I work hard to be
accepted since I know that this will help me acquire new
things while ensuring that I am ready to be a professional in
the field that I will be pursuing. Aside from that, before
deciding to be a student librarian, I ensured that I had all the
qualifications that you were looking for. I am aware that
there are three critical skills that you are seeking in a
candidate, and these are analytical, communication, and
management skills, all of which are necessary for making
every library successful. I am proud to say that I equip such
skills for my experiences as a student leader for years and
have allowed me to develop these skills at an early age. Aside
from that, I am unique because I have the power to positively
influence people around me. I may be young and
inexperienced in terms of actual work, but I always leave a
remarkable lesson to the people surrounding me.
3. What motivates you?
○ Different kinds of things motivate me – things that relate to
the people I love, and those that relate to myself as a person
who seeks continuous character development. First of all, my
family keeps me motivated at all times. Just by witnessing
the sacrifices of my parents just for the whole family to get a
better life, I immediately realize that I have to do everything
to return the favor, even if they always tell me that I do not
have to do anything in exchange for their hardships.
Moreover, I am motivated to be an intern in the library
because of my passion for reading and learning new things.
The library has been a symbol of knowledge in my
perception, and so I believe that I will acquire this
knowledge if I were to work here as a student assistant. The
thought of being able to overcome challenges due to
knowledge that is acquired through experiences and
learnings is what motivates me to push myself into pursuing
my goal. With this, I always remember to keep myself
motivated as well as keep my eyes and feet forward – onto the
success that I truly desire.
4. What are your greatest strengths?
○ Some of my strengths include my ability to work under
pressure, wherein I can still focus on doing my task despite
the clamorous surroundings; I am also hard working to the
point that I will exert everything that I can even if the activity
or task is just simple; I am disciplined, wherein I only work
towards my goal. I do not let myself get distracted from my
environment because the only thing in my mind is that I have
to finish a thing before my allotted deadline; I am highly
trustworthy, which also explains why my fellow students
have chosen me to be their leader a number of times now; I
am loyal especially to the environment I belong in, which
means that I will do everything for the betterment of our
team if ever I get hired; and of course, I am also goal-driven,
which means that I act and work based on the efficiency of
reaching my objectives. Aside from those mentioned in my
resume, I have been great at communicating and dealing with
different people. As a student leader for years now, I have
encountered lots of people, be it a student, a parent, or a
professional, and I am proud to say that I have always been
effectively communicating with them. I always work hard not
only to satisfy them, but to also satisfy myself, to prove to
myself that I can do what everyone expects me to do.
5. What are your greatest weaknesses?
○ I do have certain limitations that prevent me from improving
to the best of my ability. My greatest weakness is that I have a
difficulty saying no when it comes to accepting a new task or
activity which is why I usually end up multi-tasking. Because
of this, I honestly have a hard time managing my time. Multi-
tasking is also sometimes difficult for me considering that we
have piles of school activities everyday and I am not able to
finish them usually on time when it happens. This causes me
to become overly nervous, making me lose half of my focus,
therefore also preventing me from clearly attending to
instructions and orders. Aside from that, I lack confidence. I
am not a social butterfly since I am more of an introvert who
prefers to work alone. This is a weakness that I have a hard
time overcoming despite the fact that I have worked with
different people already. I just feel like I cannot completely
go out of my comfort zone. But I am currently working on
improving myself by taking small steps at a time while
building a work schedule to manage my time more
effectively not only in doing my tasks but also in improving
myself.
6. What are your future goals?
○ In the future, I want to be an educator just like my teachers
here in [SCHOOL]. Specifically, I want to be an elementary
English teacher, aiming to teach the youth in mastering the
English language. As a child, learning the English language
was kind of difficult for me, but as I grew, I appreciated the
language more until it has become my favorite subject in
school, so I plan to teach the younger students and share my
knowledge about the language for them to learn in the easiest
way possible. Aside from that, I really aspire to educate the
Filipino youth about the English language, especially the less
fortunate ones. However, seeing the current system in the
country, I just feel like I would not be able to fully develop
here. Of course, I need to achieve my dream first especially
because I want to make my family’s lives better, so another
future goal of mine is to be an elementary teacher abroad,
particularly in Thailand, because I do believe that I will be
able to widen my horizon there especially because it is less
toxic, and the life there is much better and easier than here in
our own country.
7. Where do you think you will be in five years?
○ In five years, I see myself as an educator who aims to give
knowledge especially to unfortunate children. I see myself as
an elementary English teacher who is educating younger
students abroad, particularly in Thailand since I have always
been dreaming of visiting and working in that country. My
undying love and aspiration for Thailand is due to my liking
of BL series, as well as the place, culture, and the people in
general. Going back, I can see myself working at one of the
infamous schools in Thailand that offers basic education not
only to the fortunate but also to those who are not able to pay
for their school fees. Aside from being an elementary teacher,
I also see myself as a team leader in our teachers’ association
wherein I guide my fellow teachers towards providing the
most satisfying education we could ever give to our students.
Moreover, I also see myself as a part time online educator on
the weekends wherein I teach international students the
English language online especially because I know that many
children would like to learn the language. Being an online
educator aside from being a physical teacher would allow me
to connect with hundreds and thousands of aspiring students
worldwide, therefore also allowing me to achieve my very
dream – to educate the youth.
8. How can you respond to stress or change?
○ One characteristic I have that I am always proud to share is
that I am resilient, which means that I am capable of
immediately adapting to change regardless of how difficult
the situation is. However, I know that I will not be able to
think straight if I am stressed or distracted by change.
Because of this, I learn to take a break when I am faced in this
situation, and this has always been my response ever since.
Taking a break which shall not be less than five minutes is
my way of coping to stress. This is because this short break
allows me to relax, keep myself at pace, and think of an
effective solution to continue with the process despite being
in a stressful situation. Sometimes, I also listen to music, take
bathroom breaks, or even read and watch my favorite series
to cope up and easily adapt to changes. I do not have to worry
because discipline has always been inside of me, so I ensure
that I do not take too much of my time to the point that I will
be missing deadlines. In these ways, I am able to maintain
resiliency and still achieve my goals on time.
9. Why do you want to work at this company?
○ Actually, before attending this interview, I was actually
searching for great things about your office, and I heard that
your office, aside from providing books and assisting
students in the library, also allows students like me to
conduct an internship there. I would love to explore more in
this kind of work setting especially because I am an introvert
so I really have a hard time socializing with others. In
addition, you know that we are almost a hundred percent
product of online classes, and despite having a good
foundation of our subjects, we actually were not able to
sharpen our skills and talents more freely than when we were
still having face to face classes. Thus, I am certain that with
your help, I will be able to fully express myself and improve
my abilities to the fullest. Anyway, I also believe that the
experience I am currently having is not enough, and carefully
deciding on which company or office I should apply to is
critical because my future relies on this. I just know that you
can help me be satisfied with myself as a future professional.
In return, I know that with my skills, I can definitely
contribute something to this company.
10.Why should we hire you?
○ You should definitely hire me because I believe I possess the
right qualifications, characteristics, and values that you are
looking for in an individual for this position. For instance, I
can work and focus even if I am under pressure. I am
hardworking, disciplined, trustworthy, loyal, and passionate
to achieve goals, and I will only be able to prove to you all
that if you hire me. Aside from this, having been a student
leader for years has shaped me into a person who knows how
to fit well and work with people under different
circumstances. Thus, you can place me anywhere, and I can
be either a leader or a follower and still contribute to the
success of the team. Moreover, I deserve a position in this
company because I am certain I have what it takes to
contribute great things to your company. I am very dedicated
and enthusiastic in giving you a whole different experience
that ensures success for the company. I may be young and
inexperienced, but my dedication to learn and work hard is
already a step towards contributing to your goals. If you were
to hire me, I will exert all I can to prove to you and to myself
that I have what it takes to become a [POSITION] in this
company.
