Meet Google Cloud
 This is an introduction to learning about Google Cloud, including our solutions and products.
 You will learn what Google Cloud is and how Google Cloud technology helps businesses transform.
 You will also learn about Google Cloud's customer centric approach to solving our customer's business
challenges and what are the solutions and products that would help digitally transform businesses.
 Lastly, you will learn all about how Google Cloud differentiates itself from its competitors.
 So what is Google Cloud? First,
 Google Cloud's mission is to organize your information and supercharge it for you.
 And all that information is organized and supercharged by Google Cloud through a technology infrastructure that
Google has been scaling for over 20 years.
 And that means Google Cloud is Cloud Native at its roots.
 This is the same infrastructure that powers all of Google services, from search to Gmail to YouTube for billions of
users, and we give our customers that same technology.
 The Google Cloud infrastructure is worldwide, spanning over 200 countries and territories.
 This means we have a network infrastructure that's isolated from the public Internet.
 And what this means for our customers is that infrastructure that it has.
 Higher availabilit.
 Lower latency
 Better security.
 Our custom server hardware and data centers can bring in an enormous amount of cloud technology computing
power to people all over the world, something we can accomplish again. Because of Google's strong infrastructure of
technology.
 So what do we mean by the cloud?
 In its most basic format, cloud is a type of technology where customer or business data and files are stored on a
lot of servers at a data center owned by Google Cloud.
 So from a personal perspective, this means that instead of using up the limited storage space on your personal
computer or mobile phone, you can store these files on Google Cloud servers.
 This brings us to cloud technology.
 The evolution of technology has created a history of innovation that's led to processes and objects that are faster,
more reliable and cheaper.
 Cloud technology can map, understand and predict human behavior, human biology, global industrial systems,
and every other complex and dynamic environment which we can only dream of figuring out in the past.
 Cloud technology is transforming how businesses create value, how people work, and ultimately, how people live.
 The growth in this technology is being driven by the shift that companies see in different industries towards digital
technology.
 Businesses are transforming and innovating because of Google cloud technology.
 And that's because Google Cloud delivers
 Security and reliability,
 Predictive data analysis capabilities
 High performance analytics.
 These help our customers address their business challenges and digitally transform.
 Digital transformation enables businesses to collaborate, perceive, categorize, predict and recommend in every
industry and for every activity.
 And we are able to help businesses digitally transform because of Google clouds.
 Global scale and distributed secure infrastructure.
 Digital transformation platform that helps people build innovative solutions.
 Industry specific capabilities for digital transformation named number of industries.
E-learning Course
 Let's take a look at an example of a business in the farming industry and how cloud technology could digitally
transform this company.
 Imagine you run a dairy production company.
 You own a herd of cows, a milk production facility where the cows are milked and the milk is collected, and a set
of trucks that deliver the milk tanks to yogurt and cheese producers.
 It can be hard to know how much milk each cow are produced next week, in three weeks or even in the first
week of next month.
 And varying levels of milk production lead to supply uncertainty for your downstream partners, such as yogurt
and cheese factories.
 Your business challenge is how do you predict how much milk your cows produce every day?
 Let's start thinking about the data sets in your ecosystem.
 These datasets will give you insight on the factors that impact milk production.
 For example: data sets could include breed and size of cow. Each feedstock, weather and even how much daily
exercise the cows get.
 By combining datasets and cloud technology, you could start building a model to self learn based on historical
production and weather along with real time data such as weather forecasts and schedule exercise.
 Now you have predictions are accurate as the weather forecast,
 the impact of using cloud technology to address your business challenge.
 You now can anticipate production and share that with your downstream partners.
 It means that your partners can better resource their facilities as well because they will know when there are
peaks and troughs and supply.
 It also means that you can plan for how many delivery trucks you need at any given point.
 So as you can see. Digitally transforming a business means that companies are able to use the benefits of
Google Cloud technology to grow their businesses in ways they may have never imagined. Yeah.

Inside Google Cloud

Now, let’s learn about Google Clouds solution and use cases, and how
Google Cloud approaches finding the right solutions to help our
customers digitally transform their businesses.

Google Cloud Solutions

So far, you’ve learned about the cloud and cloud technology, how Google Cloud came about at Google,
and how Google Cloud provides solutions, products and services that digitally transform companies
through cloud technology.

Sales Conversation
Imagine you are a potential customer who owns a local shoe company. You are preparing to take your
company national and are exploring different cloud providers.

Conversation Example #1
Seller: How do you want to transform your company?
(You) Customer: I’m ready to take the next step in my business .
E-learning Course
Seller: Great! I’ve conducted some research about the retail shoe
industry and have just the thing you need. I’ve been selling this product
for a long time and have seen the benefits in transforming companies.
Our product helps quickly expand your business footprint online by
lowering the costs associated with your on-prem infrastructure.
(You) Customer:  That isn't what my business needs at this point
though.
You also learned that we focus on finding out what digital transformation challenges our customers are
encountering. Before we delve deeper into how we provide solutions and products that transform
companies, let’s take a quick look at a sales conversation.

Think About It!

How did this interaction with the seller feel? What could have made this a better experience?
When we look back on the conversation, the approach the seller used in the conversation did not directly
address the real challenge the customer may have had. The seller leaned into talking about what they
were familiar with. The seller also made assumptions about what they believed the customer needed.

A Different Approach
Let's take a look at a different approach to conversation example #1.

Again, imagine that you are a potential customer who owns a local shoe company and is
preparing to take your company national.

Conversation Example #2
Customer: … with the production team overseas. Our current system latency delays
our time to market and we miss revenue opportunities.
Different approach:
Seller: What are you currently using to connect your teams, and how well is the
solution serving your needs?
Customer: Currently, we are using a legacy productivity suite; however, the
collaboration functionality is limited, and we are growing in the Asian market and need
to connect with those teams more easily.
Seller: Tell me about the functionality that you want from a collaboration suite, and
how much of a priority is each function? Is this initiative being sponsored by your
CEO?

How did this conversation feel different from the previous

conversation?
While the above was a simplified version of a sales conversation, the conversation highlights how Google
Cloud sellers guide our customers through thinking about their business needs and the impact of their
current business challenges.
