RFID SMART CARD ATTENDANCE SYSTEM

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) smart card attendance system is an

electronic system used to automate attendance tracking in various
organizations such as schools, universities, companies, etc. It uses radio waves
to communicate between the RFID reader and the RFID smart card.
The system consists of a Node MCU micro controller, RFID reader, RFID smart
card, LCD, Alarm, power supply and a local web page. Each student is given an
RFID smart card with a unique identification number encoded with it.
When a student enters the classroom, they present their RFID smart card to
the reader, which reads the card and sends the data to the microcontroller
system. The same is displayed on the LCD screen and beeps the alarm. Also the
student attendance notification will be available on the web page instantly.
The attendance data can be accessed by authorized personnel such as
teachers, administrators, or managers. They can view the attendance records
of individuals, generate reports, and analyse the attendance data to make
informed decisions.
RFID smart card attendance system is an efficient and reliable way to automate
attendance tracking, as it eliminates the need for manual entry, reduces errors,
and saves time. It also provides a secure way to manage attendance data and
ensures the privacy of individuals.

DESCRIPTION

NODE MCU MICROCONTROLLER

The Node MCU is an open-source development board based on the ESP8266

Wi-Fi chip. It is a popular microcontroller board used for building IoT (Internet
of Things) projects.
The Node MCU board is built around the ESP8266 Wi-Fi chip, which integrates
a microcontroller unit (MCU) with built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. The ESP8266
chip has a 32-bit Tensilica processor running at 80MHz, making it capable of
running embedded applications. One of the key features of the Node MCU is its
built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. The Node MCU board provides a number of
General-Purpose Input/output (GPIO) pins that allow you to connect and control
various external devices and sensors. These pins can be used for digital
input/output, analog input, and pulse-width modulation (PWM) output.
RFID READER

An RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) reader is a device that wirelessly

communicates with RFID tags or transponders to retrieve information stored
on the tags. It consists of a reader module, an antenna, and a communication
interface. Here's a description of an RFID reader: RFID readers operate within
specific frequency ranges (LF, HF, UHF) and must be compatible with the
corresponding RFID tags for successful communication.
LCD
An LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is a type of flat-panel display technology. It is a
thin, lightweight, and energy-efficient display that utilizes liquid crystals to
control the passage of light and produce images. An LCD consists of several
layers sandwiched together. The key layers include two polarizing filters, two
transparent electrodes, a liquid crystal layer, and a backlight. The liquid crystal
layer is the crucial element that controls the light transmission.
ALARM

An alarm is a device or system designed to alert individuals of a specific event

or potential danger. Alarms are commonly used for security, safety, and
notification purposes.

WEB PAGE
A web page is a document that is displayed on a web browser and accessed
through the internet. It is typically written in HTML (Hypertext Markup
Language) and may include additional technologies such as CSS (Cascading
Style Sheets) and JavaScript to enhance the appearance and functionality of
the page.
