How to write an English teacher's resume


You can use these steps to write an English teacher's resume:

1. Include your name and contact information


At the top of your resume, include your first and last name followed by your contact
information. Make sure to have a professional email address  and a working phone
number. You can also add your city and state.

2. Write a professional summary


A professional summary  is a short paragraph that can help a hiring manager determine
whether or not you have the qualifications needed for the job you want. Consider using this
section to highlight your qualifications and personality.

Some details you might add to your summary include how many years you've taught, the
grade levels you've taught and the degree of your expertise with the English language.

3. List your relevant work experience


While English teachers tend to have the same educational background, your work
experience can set you apart from other candidates. Start with your most current or your
last employment and work your way back when listing each job entry. For each entry,
include your:

List of primary job duties

spelling, grammar and punctuation errors. Though it's important to do this for resumes in
any industry, it's essential for an English teacher who instructs students in these areas.
Having an error-free resume shows hiring managers you have the proficiency needed to
teach the English language.

Use keywords from the job description


Hiring managers often look for target keywords in resumes to ensure applicants have the
right qualifications. Review the job post and read through the description. Look for any
