Internship or on the job training is one way by which we students are given an opportunity to
apply the theories and computations that we have learned from school. It also helps us to obtain
applicable knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. Colleges and Universities require
their students to undergo such training within specific number of hours as part of the curriculum. For us
students, an OJT or internship program provides opportunities to go through the actual methodologies of a
specific job using the real tools, equipment, and documents. In effect, the work place becomes a
development venue for us student trainee to learn more about our chosen field and practice what we have
learn from the academy.
On the other hand, a valuable OJT program also profits the companies who accept trainees. First
OJT or intern provides extra manpower for a less significant labor cost than a regular employee. Most of
them are all eager to learn the ropes so chances are high that they’ll given a chance to work on the same
company as an employee after graduating. Employers can be used this internship strategy as a method in
recruiting employees. Since the trainer or supervisor can follow the trainees progress, he can gauge based
on the performance, behavior and attitude if the trainee will make good recruit after the completion of his
internship. We trainees can bring fresh ideas into the organization. Given the opportunity to converse our
minds freely and without fear, we may be able to contribute significantly in brainstorming sessions or
research and eventually help the organizations productivity.
I think our instructor at the Municipality of San Juan teach me a lot of knowledge regarding in my
course. Being an OJT is not easy there is many unfamiliar things that you can encounter that you cannot
encounter when you are in school, there is so many things that cannot teach in our school. As a BIT
student at Batangas State University San Juan Campus being an On the Job Training it has a big impact in
my learning experience because at may 2 nd year and 3rd year college the teaching class was different
because before it was just an online class that I admit I didn’t learn much. OJT is shaping our skills and
enriching what we learned in school here we know more or we see what was previously only shown to us
in the picture and because of that we can see that we have opinions or background studies on something
and this will help us in the training but that instructor will always follow you.
Our On The Job Training is consists of 540 hours, in our OJT place in Municipality of San Juan,
they gives us 8 hours a day of training in 1 week we have 3days of face to face training and 2 days of
online training. Before we enter in our On the Job Training we submit application for our instructor to
have an idea and knowing who are the applicants for OJT and we also given a memorandum of
agreement(MOA) it is the document written between parties to cooperatively work together on an agreed
upon object. The purpose of MOA is to have a written formal understanding of the agreement between
parties.
September 5, 2022 Sunday the first day of our On The Job Training day. The first day is
orientation. Orientation on what we will do and where start in our training we also talked about our
deployment in every department. Because we are 10 OJT’s we deploy in different department. In the
Municipality of San Juan only 3 department will accepting trainees and when we are in the same
department it will be so crowded it for 10 trainees. And so that we are not only ones doing it we have
rotation on the 3 department those department are the Library department, DSWD department and the
Mayor’s office Department and because we are 10 students, 2 in Mayor’s office 3 in DSWD Department
and 5 trainees in the Library. Every week the 2 trainees from Mayor’s office will switch in the 2 trainees
from the Library and the remaining 3 from the Library will switch in the 3 trainees from DSWD
Department.
In the first week my duty is in the Library, Our instructor taught us how to connect the power
supply into CPU or the System Unit and he teach the different parts of the CPU. A system unit is the part
of the computer that houses the primary devices that performs operations and produce result for

calculations. Its hard to assemble the system unit in needs proper specialist instructions. The Central
Processing Unit(CPU); its components. The CPU is compost of 6 main components the first is control
unit it is circuitry within a computers processor that direct operation, next is arithmetic logic unit,
registers cache, buses and clock. Sometimes there is a printer we deliver to us something is shaking in the
printer we check what it is we saw some staples inside the printer and we removed it, and to make it
worth our effort to assemble the printer we also cleaned the inside with the small brush we just take it and
if we hold it wrong we might break it. Our instructor us we were taught to download an app that detects
virus from your computer and it is called smadav. Smadav is a small antivirus utility from overseas which
includes a small set of malware signatures, searching your PC for unwanted programs. Once it’s on your
computer or laptop, malware can steal your data, encrypt it so you can’t access it, or even erase it
completely. For this reason it’s important that you always use antivirus software, and keep it up date to
protect your data and devices. Antivirus software defends against known threats through what are called
signatures or against suspicious behavior. It’s ultimately about repelling malicious attacks which may
results in slow computer performance, lost data, system downtown or other negative outcome. Most
provide real-time protection, which can protect your devices for incoming threats, scan your entire
computer regularly for known threats and provide automatic updates and identify, black and delete
malicious codes and software.
Another thing I was taught in the library department was the formatting of the hard disk drive by
formatting the computer open the computer management by selecting the start button the select control
panel, system and security, Administrative tools and then double click the computer management. In the
left panel, under the storage select disk management. Right click the volume that you want you to format,
and then select format disk formatting is usually required when the new operating system is going to be
used by the user. It also done when there is space issue and we require additional space for the storage of
more data in the drives. When we format the disk then the existing files within the disk is also erased.
Computers runs faster and performs well when there is more available space. Hence, formatting hard
drive can improve the performance on the data storage. After using a computer for a long time, files and
codes that runs operating system might be damaged greatly slowing many functions of the computer.
Most hard disk drive or (HDD) last three to five years before some components fails. That doesn’t always
mean the drive is irrecoverably broken. But three to five years is still about how long day last, weather
your taking about an internal drive for a server, desktop, or an external (HDD). Then we are encoding the
name of the farmers who are going to Korea, I also remember that the municipality has scholarship
together with the Mayor’s Office Department staff, the reception of applicants went good and the papers
were properly encoded. Sometimes we clean our library department it is not related on my course but as
an OJT, in that area we also need to be seen clean so that our instructor will be happy on us.
Sometimes my duty was in the DSWD Department and I helped my colleagues there in making
identification cards for seniors and cards for persons with disabilities. This is difficult sometimes,
especially when it comes to the elderly because sometimes their heads are hot, sometimes they complain
because they sit for a long time. Then when I am in the Mayor’s Office Department we encode using the
Microsoft excel. Microsoft excel users to format, organize and calculate data in a spread sheet.
By organizing data using software like excel, data analysts and others users can make information
easier to view as data is added or changed Excel contains a large number of boxes called cells that are
ordered in rows and columns. This the 7 most popular uses of Excel

Then our Instructor also put us on Korean class, but it won’t interfere in our OJT hours because
we only have 3 hours in this class. Korean language is difficult but its more fun especially when you
gradually understand it. When we are not doing anything in our department and because the Lambayok
Festival was approaching we help in making the “banderitas” that will be use as decoration in the street.
Sometimes we also help LGU San Juan by giving out aid such as rice and canned goods in the plaza. Just
like when there was a Christmas party in the plaza for the Barangay Health Workers(BHW) and for
Barangay Police Safety Officer(BPSO).In the Christmas Party of BHW and BPSO we joined in there
party to make them happy we know they’re sacrifice in our Barangay. For me they deserve to be honor
because they protect the citizen. I am so happy that I was part of this OJT. If there is a chance to apply
again to the Municipality of San Juan I will not past it up because I know that I will learn here and shape
what I studied at school. For those trainees let’s show what we can do and improve whatever task is
assigned to us.
