I am Yash Patel, son of Mr. Mukeshbhai Patel and Mrs. Rasilaben Patel and a permanent
resident of Ganesh paru, Tundav, Gujrat, INDIA. The sponsors for my study (diploma of
Health Science) in Joondalup, Australia are my maternal uncle( Vishnubhai Narshihbhai
Patel) . They will pay my tuition fee, living expenses, travelling expenses and other required
expenses.

Educational Background
since my birth 07th August 2003. I've been quite a dedicated student since my childhood. My
maternal uncle is always supportive and they always gave more importance to education. All
through my education, I have developed an undying passion for financial subjects and this
has led me to choose a health science program. I am honored to apply for this program at
Edith Cowan University. My curiosity for science as a way of health communication since
my Secondary. Science has been my preferred subject since childhood. I have done many
projects about this subject at my school during my secondary education. And also some of
my friends who lives near Perth told me that ECC university is good for a health science
program as per his personal experience.

I have completed my higher education in science stream from Golul Science School,
Siddhpur. It is one of the most prestigious and reputed school near my hometown.. The
competition is very intense in Gokul Science School. while the quality of education and the
general standard of student’s ability are of the highest order. As a result, every mark is hard
earned and nothing is made available on a platter. I rate the two years of study in the science
stream among the best years of my life, as the time I spent here has been the most productive
years of my life. I got to spend quality time in the chemistry lab and biology lab.

Reason to choose Australia over other countries

Studying in Australia secures me a globally recognised education, access to world-class
facilities, and memorable student experiences. I can gain practical and hands-on training in
the industry corresponding to subjects I will be studying. This combination of teamwork,
shared learning, and industry focus will provide me with a leading edge for my further studies
and career. Australia offers a combination of lectures, smaller tutorials, group work,
individual exams and essays that are hard to get in UK and US. Australian education
programs represent great value for money. Australia also has a lower unemployment rate (at
present) than the US and UK. Australia has uninterrupted growth for last 26 years. In
Australia, I am expected to think creatively and independently, and hands-on experience is

actively encouraged. Also, Australia has friendly, laid-back nature, excellent education
system, and high standard of living. In the urban areas, I will be able to find internships that
are related to the field that I am studying [1]
The world is becoming safer all the time, there are some countries that are safer than others.
Australia is regarded as one of the safest and friendliest study destinations in the world
compared to UK and USA [1]. By studying in Australia, I have an exciting chance to enjoy
creative freedom and a very high quality of life. Besides these reasons following are the other
reason for choosing Australia over other countries:

Highly rated by International Student

According to the survey, conducted by Australian Government in collaboration with peak
education bodies and state/territory government education departments of current
international students to obtain information about their living and learning experience in
Australia [2].

Global Recognition
By studying in Australia, I will receive a qualification that is recognised by employers and
leading educational institutions in many countries around the world. Provides an easy way for
countries around the world to recognise my qualification, and issue the comparable
qualifications for local use .

Great lifestyle
The lifestyle and quality of living in Australia is among the best in the world. Several of
Australia’s capital cities regularly rank among the world’s ‘most liveable’ cities. In 2014, the
Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Liveability Survey found that four Australian cities
ranked in the world’s top ten most liveable cities. Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Perth
ranked first, fifth, seventh and ninth respectively, a feat not achieved by any US or UK city.

Welcoming place to live

Apart from being a great place to get a first-rate education, Australia is also a fantastic place
to live. It provides a welcoming and multicultural society with a population that originates
from around 200 countries. Australian people have a reputation for being amongst the safest
and friendliest in the world, and Australian cities are also clean.

Growing Destination
Currently, Australia is the third most popular destination for international students in the
English-speaking world, behind the United States and the UK [3]. I choose to study in
Australia because of the cultural diversity, friendly natives, and high quality of education.

Mode of Communication
Compared to countries like Japan, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and other non-English
speaking countries, English language is the primary mode of communication in Australia and
is spoken by majority of the population [4]. Education curriculum in Nepal has provision for
using the English language as primary language from primary level to University level for
teaching. I am using the English language for last 15 years and I have experience in writing,
speaking, listening, and reading in English. So, the non-English speaking country is not an
option for me as I have to learn a new language.

Cost of Living
The cost of living in Australia is excellent, especially when compared to their counterparts in
the United States and Britain [6]. In Australia, a student gets value for money in terms of cost
of living. The conversion factor is cheaper compared to the UK or US.

Why Perth?
Perth is the 4th populous city in Australia and it’s known for the beautiful gardens
and parklands, white sandy beaches, and exciting nightlife. The city is also known for
its dynamic mix of cultural experiences and restaurants.

The city also provides a safe environment for all international students to obtain a
high-quality education. The majority of International Students In Australia are
living and studying in Perth.

It’s because the city will not just provide top-notch education but also provide a
beautiful environment.

Reason to choose ECC Perth Study Center
Reasons to choose ECU includes discovering the beauty of our state, a renowned
performing arts academy and solving real-world engineering challenges. Reasons to
choose ECU includes enjoying great weather all year ‘round, fashion study
opportunities, or helping elite athletes to reach their potential.
Health science is broad, but essentially it’s all about enhancing the health of
communities. That includes tackling a range of health-related societal problems,
such as obesity, harmful alcohol and drug use and even dealing with global
pandemic
In this degree, we will study the core concepts of public health and access tools that
will prepare us for the real world. Studying Health Science at ECU will give us skills
to not only assess and monitor health situations, but we will also learn intervention
strategies so we can make a difference to the lives and health of others. We will also
gain valuable industry experience through a work placement in your final year.

And because we have a choice of one or more major subjects in this degree, we will learn
specific skills in an area that interests us. The Bachelor of Health Science gives student a
choice of six majors - Addiction Studies, Health Promotion, Nutrition, Nutrition Bioscience,
Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety, and Occupational Safety and Health.

Locations
 ECU has three campuses, consisting of two metropolitan campuses at Joondalup and Mount
Lawley, and one at Bunbury, in Western Australia's South West Region. Programs are also
offered at regional centres throughout Western Australia. The Joondalup Campus is the
University's headquarters.

Flexibility
The course content is flexible and may be tailored to my professional needs. I can choose
subjects that relate to networking, programming, security, management, or business and
systems analysis. CSU offer subjects from such diverse fields as digital forensics, wireless
networking, cloud computing, virtualization, and object-oriented programming. In keeping
with the strong practical focus of the course, CSU also offers credit for a wide range of
industry certificates from vendors such as Cisco, Microsoft, and EMC, along with credit for
previous academic study.

Reasons for gaps of one year or more in my academic history

In 2020 in the corona was started here. After my 12th qualification I had a thought that I will
pursue my bachelor of health science in Edith Cowan University,Australia. But because of
Corona, Australian border was closed for international students. So just for wait to open
Australians border, I took admission in bachelor of science in chemistry. When the
Australians border opened for international Students, I dropped the BSc and started the

process of studying in Australia, because I have to pursue my bachelor of health science in
Edith Cowan University. So the gap of 1 year because of BSc and the another 1 year gap is
for preparing IELTS and process of studying in Australia.

Reasons for not Choosing other Universities over Charles Sturt

University
Before making the decision to study bachelor of health science in Edith Cowan University [ECU], I
have done a brief research about the course, cost recognition, duration and future scope for my
career.
I took my time comparing the course and subject materials as well as a teaching environment.
Among various world-class education provider in Australia I found many universities and their
courses suitable for me but among them, the Edith Cowan University, is the one that stands out
for me. Since its establishment, ECU has been providing a suite of quality education in
undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs to domestic and international students.
As per the research, I found that ECU is the only good university in Western Australia for teaching
quality. ECU is rated as one of Australia’s best universities for overall student experience. ECU
will help, whether it’s practical to work experience or the chance to pursue a lifelong passion, to
connect with the community or to travel. ECU Programs include a strong focus on the core skills
in the future workplace. All programs include hands-on training, practical experience and
internships. ECU has many partner institutions worldwide and the opportunities are endless. In
short, I will get everything I will need for a bright future. During my research, I have gone through
the website of few other universities like Victoria University, Australian national university,
Australian catholic university, university of Melbourne and many more but I found ECU more
preferable and suitable. ECU provides a high graduate employment rate with advance technology
and teaching, learning facilities. I am also attracted to the affordable tuition fees and suitable
location. Also, I compared the tuition fees with other college and found that Australian national
university [ANU] has AUD 43,632 per year tuition fees for the same course.

Reasons for Choosing this particular academic program

The Bachelor of Health Sciences is a three-year program that provides a comprehensive
overview of health and health care, including biomedicine, healthcare ethics, public health,
psychology and nutrition. Receive a solid foundation that will allow me to move into a clinical or
non-clinical career. This is an excellent pathway into postgraduate health programs, including
medicine. Choose to major in Health Promotion, Nutrition or Public Health. I will study a range of
specialized courses during my second and third year and will also undertake health and
management related electives. Get hands-on experience, integrate my knowledge and develop
key professional skills in a busy health setting as me to undertake supervised work experience in
my final year. Bachelor of health science prepares or, helps to tackle current and future health
and well-being needs of individuals, communities and population, both locally and globally. It
offers a detailed overview of healthcare and is the perfect springboard to a variety of clinical and
non-clinical careers in the health care sector. In Bachelor of Health Science I will:
 Gain a strong foundation in health science.
 Understand the current and future health needs of the community.
 Specialize in a health discipline.
 Gain work experience in my area of specialization

I will specialize in one of six extended majors, including health promotion, environmental health,
epidemiology and public health, prosthetics and orthotics, or aboriginal and Torres strait islander
health, equipping me with the skills to improve population health and wellbeing. The Bachelor of
Health Science has many career opportunities like:
 Environmental health officer.
 Health promotion officer
 Prosthetist and/or orthotist
 Epidemiologist
 Health communication specialist. 
And also it has a great future scope in a developing country like my home country India. 

Career Plan
My plan is to study a bachelor of health science from Australia. It provides a comprehensive
overview of health and healthcare, including biomedicine, healthcare ethics, public health,
psychology. I will make best out of these three years by portraying my hard work, zeal, sincerity,
and dedications and ace my different exams for achieving my goal. With an accomplishment of
three years of studies and with the extension of my visa I want to polish up my practical
knowledge and would like to be working in any of the course-related fields over there. As per the
research, the potential field of employment includes environmental health officer, epidemiologist,
health education officer, project manager and many more. After completing my course from
Australia and having some experience under the PSW I will return back to my home country India.
If I am not able to get PSW also I will return to India and will apply for the job utilizing all the
knowledge and information which I got from Australia. I would like to see myself working
towards the benefit and development of the health industry. I have a genuine intention to go to
Australia, I will return to my home county after the completion of my course as my birthplace has
always been a place of comfort for me. And also, my maternal uncle supported me as a their son
and they are unmarried, so I will defiantly return to my home country India to taking care of my
maternal uncle. With the Australian degree, I would be able to get good job in my home country
India. Such companies are giving more priority to international degree holders than local degree
holder. They are paying INR 65000- 75000 per month to International degree holder but for the
same job Indians Degree holder will just pay NPR 25000 -40000 per month. It seems that my
investment to get an Australian degree will be more beneficial for me to get a competitive job
nationally and internationally as Australian degree is globally accepted.

Financial Support
My family is well settled in India. We are 3 members in our family my maternal uncle, my
grandmother (mother’s mother) and me. As I said before that I’m living with maternal uncle
(Mother’s brother) since my childhood because I don’t have my parents. So he is taking care of
me as their son and he is sponsoring me to pursue my all study and leaving cost. Their
happiness equals to my happiness. They have compromised their dreams for my
achievements. My parents strongly believe in parenthood, that they want me to achieve the
height of success and reach the summit. What I am today is due to the support and love of my
family . My family members are Indian Citizens. ( my maternal uncle, Vishnubhai Narshinhbhai
Patel ) will be my sponsor for me throughout the study course time in Australia. Our income
sources are from my maternal uncle who work as in the agriculture. He earns
INR.700000 annually. We are thinking to having a bank loan of NPR.3000000 for my further
living and study expenses where I already paid my initial tuition fees I will get support through
my sponsors to secure my education goes smoothly as possible to my university.
My sponsor will provide me funds necessary while I stay in Australia that includes tution fee,
living expenses, travelling expenses and other required expenses.

Visa Conditions
I am aware of visa condition of student visa subclass 500 and I must comply with them, some
of them are as follows.
● I cannot work more than 40 hours per fortnight when my course is in session (other than
work which has been registered as a part of the course). I can work for more than 40
hours per fortnight during recognised vacation periods offered by my education provider.
● I cannot start paid work until I have started my course in Australia.
● I must remain enrolled in a registered course.
● I must maintain enrollment in a registered course that is the same level as, or at a higher
level than, the registered course for which I was granted a visa.
● I must maintain satisfactory attendance (at least 80 %) in my course and course progress
for each study period as required by my education provider.
● I must tell my education provider, the address where I live in Australia within seven days
of arriving in Australia or if I change the address.
● I am required to maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for their period of stay
in Australia.
I must not be involved in activities that are disruptive to, or in violence threaten harm to, the
Australian community or a group within the Australian community [20]..

Conclusion
In conclusion, I say that I consider my admission to the Charles Sturt University (Study
Center Sydney) not only as a great honor and success but also as an compulsion for hard
work. I will work hard in hope that the effort I put in will result in quality knowledge. I look
forward to pursuing my career as a student of CSU. CSU will provide me a platform to learn

the subjects practically with real-time implementation that I choose to study in coming future.
Being a student of CSU, I will be able to interact with state of art technology that are yet to
be introduced in Nepal. Post Graduate Degree from a reputed Australian university like CSU
will be hugely advantageous for me and will open doors to many opportunities in Nepal.
