Analyzing the Academic Performance Of Grade 10-Jacinto in

Mathematics in Dujali National High School

Background of the Math study

Math assists us to think sensibly in order to identify and describe a problem
effectively. It assists us in comprehending complex concepts, patterns, and the environment
around us. Many children excel at arithmetic, yet the majority of them dislike it because it is
difficult, boring, or impractical for them. We know that students' grades in this topic reflect
their level of comprehension, effort, and dedication to their study.
Dujali National High School is a recognized educational institution dedicated to
offering a high-quality education to its students. Because mathematics is such a vital
subject, it is crucial to assess the performance of Grade 10-Jacinto students in order to
measure their comprehension of mathematical concepts and skills. By examining students'
academic performance in Mathematics, educators and stakeholders can develop effective
strategies to improve teaching approaches and student learning experiences. We need to
assist them understand what math is and how intriguing and thrilling it is.

Statement of the problem

By conducting this mini-research the researchers will be assisted in analyzing the
performance of Grade 10-Jacinto students in Mathematics at Dujali National High School for
the 3rd Quarter in S.Y. 2022-2023.

Significance of the study

This study should be done because this study shows how the grade 10-Jacinto
students grow, adapt and learn in a subject that is very hard to understand. Its purpose is to
identify who or how much students have difficulty in learning mathematics. This study will
prove as an information to the researcher and teachers that will help them to assist the
students in overcoming the obstacles in their way of learning this subject.

The findings of this study will add to the existing body of knowledge on academic
performance analysis in mathematics. The findings will give teachers with insights into the
strengths and shortcomings of Grade 10-Jacinto pupils, allowing them to build focused
interventions and instructional strategies to improve Mathematics education. Furthermore,
the recommendations of the study may assist school administrators in developing policies
and activities that encourage better academic performance in Mathematics for all children.

As a result, 69% of the grades are lower than the cumulative frequency 90, while 31% are equal to
or higher than the cumulative frequency of 90.

Results and Findings

The average marks of the students is 86.09 or 86%.

75% of the students got a score of equal or lower than 90.375.

25% of the students got a higher score than 90.375.

69% of the marks are less than the cumulative frequency of 90.

31% of the marks are higher than the cumulative frequency of 90.

Conclusion and Recommendation

According to the statistics, the overall performance of Grade 10 Jacinto students in

Mathematics is generally solid, with the majority getting high marks and a considerable proportion
scoring extraordinarily well. However, it would be useful to do a more in-depth analysis of the
distribution of marks and identify any areas for improvement. Providing additional support or
enrichment opportunities to pupils who score less than 90 points may help them improve their
performance. Recognizing and challenging high-performing pupils might also help them continue to
achieve in Mathematic.
