Problem 1:
Object A with a weight of Q = 50 N slides on an inclined plane at
an angle = 45°. A is tied to a rope that passes over pulley C
and hangs object B as shown. The rope is parallel to the sliding
direction. Determine the weight of object B so that object A
goes up uniformly. The friction coefficient between A and the
plane is = 0.1. Ignore the friction at pulley C and the elasticity
of the string. C

Problem 2:
Object A with a weight of Q = 50 N slides on V-track inclined at an
angle = 45°, groove wall inclined at an angle = 45°. A is tied to
a rope that passes over pulley C and hangs object B as shown. The
rope is parallel to the sliding direction. Determine the weight of
object B so that object A goes up uniformly. The friction coefficient
between A and groove is f = 0.1. Ignore the friction at pulley C and
the elasticity of the string. C

Problem 3:
Object A with a weight of Q = 40 N slides on an inclined plane at an
angle of = 30°. A is tied to a rope that passes over pulley C and
hangs object B as shown. The rope makes an angle of = 30° with
the sliding plane. Determine the weight of object B so that A goes
up uniformly. The friction coefficient between A and plane is f = 0.1.
Ignore the friction at pulley C and the elasticity of the string.

Problem 4:
Consider the brake with radius R and r = 0.15 m. The friction coefficient
between the brake line and brake wheel f = 0.2 and l = 1 m, lAB = 2R,
P = 200N. Determine the load Q for the working of a brake.

Problem 5:
Consider the brake as shown, the friction coefficient between the
rope and brake wheel is f = 0.2, a = R = 2r, l = 3R, α = 450. The
ropes are inelastic and have negligible mass. Determine the mass
m in terms of mass M so that the brake can work.
