i. Hard copy ii. Soft copy iii. Photo copy
Q.3 Answer the following Questions:
a. What do you mean by Input ans Output devices?
Ans:
Input Devices:
An input device is a hardware that is used to provide input (data or instruction
) to a computer so that it can be processed.
Some input devices are: Keyboard, Mouse, Joystick, Light pen.
Output Devices:
The devices which are used to display the results or information are output
devices.
Some output devices are: Monitor, Printer, Speakers, Plotter.
b. Name any five input and output devices.
Ans:
Input Devices:
Keyboard, Mouse, Joystick, Light Pen, Scanner.
Output Devices:
Monitor, Printer, Speakers, Plotter, Projector.
c. State the difference between Microphone and Speakers.
Microphone:
Microphone is an input device.
It is used to record sound or voice into the computer system.
You can store voice data in the computer by speaking in front of this
device.
Microphone is also used in many applications such as telephones, tape

Speakers:
Speaker is an output device.
It is used to listen to the music and sounds played by the computer.
Normally they come in pair and have different shapes and sizes. They may

paper by pressing the end of pins fixed in its print heads, against an inked ribbon.
It is noisy with low print quality, but least expensive.

Inkjet Printer:
Inkjet printer prints by spraying tiny ink droplets on the paper. It can print
in both, colour as well as black and white.
The print quality of this printer is better than Dot Matrix printer and it prints
without making any noise.
Laser Printer:

computers. It is a pointing device that moves the cursor on the screen and used to
perform one or more actions.
