Chapter 13

Jane heard a terrible scream coming from the top floor. All guests *
.opened their doors and asked about Rochester

Rochester comforted his guests , telling them that a servant had a *


.nightmare and asked them to go back to their rooms

Rochester asked Jane to bring a clean cloth and to accompany him *


.upstairs

When Jane went up stairs , she found Mr. Mason laying in an armchair , *
.his clothes and his arm covered in blood

.Rochester asked Jane to stay with Mr. Mason till he gets a doctor *

When the doctor arrived , he remarked that the skin on the shoulder has *
.been torn by teeth as well as a knife

Rochester warned Mason that he shouldn't have seen the lady alone and *
.that he should consider her dead and buried

Jane was sure that the lady they were talking about was Grace Poole and *
asked Rochester why he really kept her in the house although she was
.really dangerous

Rochester asked he not to worry from Grace Poole , and mentioned that *
he was really worried from Mason as by one single word, he could destroy
.Rochester's happiness

Rochester tried to play with Jane's feelings and asked her if he would *
.be happy if he married Blanche Ingram
Chapter 14

Jane kept dreaming of children for a whole week and that meant that *
.there would be a lot of troubles to come

Jane heard the sad news about her cousin John Reed that he killed *
himself because he wasted all his money and was indebted and would be
.put in prison

Mrs .Reed's health was getting worse after her son's death and wanted *
.to see Jane, so a coach arrived to take her to Gateshead

Jane took permission from Rochester to go and visit Mrs. Reed as she *
.was dying

Rochester was unwilling to let her go, but when she insisted, he told her *
.that she shouldn’t be late and gave her some money

Jane told him that if he would marry Miss Ingram, she had to look for *
.another job

Bessie ( Mrs. Reed's housekeeper) married Robert , the coachman, and *


.was busy with her three young children

Eliza and Georgiana ( Mrs Reed's daughters) were very rude to Jane and *
.totally ignored her when she arrived

Jane entered Mrs. Reed's room. She didn’t welcome Jane as well and she *
.was stern and pale

Mrs. Reed's daughters were almost looking forward for her death and *
.had their own plans for their future

Mrs. Reed told Jane before her death thatJane had a relative who kept *
looking for her called John Eyre. He was not married and had no children
and wanted to know Jane's address to send her a letter, informing her
.that she would inherit his property after his death as he was very rich

Mrs. Reed told Jane that she told him that Jane had died of typhus *
.because she didn’t want her to inherit anything from him

.Mrs . Reed died , but still she disliked Jane till the last moment *
