ACCUPLACER SENTENCE SKILLS TEST

The 20 questions in this test are of two main types:

1. Sentence Correction: These questions require an understanding of sentence structure. You are
asked to choose the most appropriate word or phrase for the underlined portion of the
sentence.
2. Construction Shift: These questions ask you to rewrite a sentence according to the criteria
shown, while keeping the same meaning as the original sentence.

Within these two main categories, the questions are also classified by the skills being tested. Some
questions deal with the logic of a sentence. Some focus on whether the answer is a complete sentence.
Others consider the relationship between coordination and subordination.
