Effective preparation for On-
Campus exams
• Commit to a regular (daily) revision plan by creating a Personal Study Timetable. Do not leave revision
to the end!

• Plan specific activities for each slot in your study timetable and commit to the plan. These should
include activities aimed at addressing areas which you may still not have mastered or are struggling
with as well as going over areas you are confident with to ensure that confidence is not misleading.

• While reading and preparing/reviewing topic summaries is an important activity for your study time,
you should make sure that the bulk of the time is spent completing practice questions and ensure that
you are answering the discursive bits as well, instead of the computational ones only.

• All the practice questions on your Module Aula Space are good examples of exam questions –
practicing with these will develop your understanding and build your confidence and competence
for the exam. Use a notebook, pen, highlighter and calculator to practice handwriting your answers.

• Use the feedback resources on Aula for feedback on your attempts – AFTER ATTEMPTING QUESTIONS,
not before. Reading answers is no guarantee that you can reproduce those answers yourself!

• Ensure that you complete available exam papers on Aula in the lead to the exam – especially the
ones in the same structure as the coming exam under exam conditions so that you can plan your
exam time management and question approach strategy. Then mark yourself or seek feedback on
those attempts to see if your attempts are effective. Attempting them more than once won’t hurt.
