WORK EXPERIENCE
City of Victoria Public Library- Youth Programs Supervisor
November 2022- Present
As the Youth Programs Supervisor I oversaw a team of three library assistants in the development of programming for
children between the ages of newborn to 17. Together we provided services to a community of patrons both rural and urban that
ranged from early literacy initiatives like the 1000 books before kindergarten program and our Summer Reading Program to
family friendly traditions like our annual gingerbread house workshop holiday event that services over 1,000 families each year.
As the supervisor I was responsible for keeping track of the juvenile collections, making sure they were well maintained and up
to date. Weeding items as necessary to keep the collection relevant to the community. Supervised the creation of our own
marketing material for any event related to the children's programs as well as the various social media platforms and calendars we
utilized to promote our programs. Over the course of my time at the Victoria Public Library I have presented at a number of local
outreach events, local news, library advisory board meetings, and conferences to promote early literacy, inclusivity, and our many
programs we offer. As a member of the management team I have assisted in the creation of a strategic plan, reference desk lead,
and the onboarding of new employees.

Recently renovated I came into the position with quite literally no physical set up. Working alongside the certified

school I created a space students felt welcome and comfortable to inhabit. Along with my regular duties such as shelving books,
creating displays, labeling spines, putting dust covers on books, mending books, assisting with collection development, and many
other day to day duties. I also write the monthly newsletter, designed/decorated the three different seating areas (taking the time
to create many of the items that helped bring them to life such as the fairy houses and flower chandeliers), taught over 20 classes
to a mix of virtual and in person students, and recorded a number of read alouds to be posted online for our at home students use.

three different grades across the two schools. In the summer and winter, schools hosted two weeks worth of English camp, one for
