Please refer also to the general assembly drawing to assist with the operation of the instrument.

1. The instrument is powered by an internal rechargeable battery pack. When the battery pack can no
longer power necessary to rotate the mandrel, under load, once at a constant tangential velocity of
25.4±2mm/second,a test button or foot or foot switch is depressed and the instrument will not function.
Please recharged and the LED will illuminate.
2. To recharge the battery pack, plug the 3 pin charging unit into a suitable 240V Single Phase electrical
supply point and the jack plug into the male socket at the rear of the instrument case above the foot

DO NOT RECHARGE FOR MORE THAN 16HOURS. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THIS
INSTRUCTION WILL SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE BATTERY LIFE.
3. The instrument can be used in two basic modes.
a) Bench mounted
To operate in this mode, fix the base plate supplied firmly to the front of a suitable worktop. Secure the
instrument to the base plate with the two spring catches.
b) Single Handed Use
The instrument is held by the pistol grip in one hand, the mandrel is applied to the toy and operated
using the button inset into the end of the pistol grip handle.

4. To prepare the instrument for testing set the scale indicator knob/disc to indicate the force at the
mandrel (normally 1.35lbs). To adjust the position simply loosen the knob by rotating it anti-clockwise.
Slide to required position and tighten up.

5. Wrap a single layer of polytetrafluoroethylene tape around the mandrel. The tape and position of the
tape on the mandrel shall be as described in the Standards.

6. Choose mode of use (either 4 i)or ii)and apply the underside of the mandrel to the sharp edge of the toy

5. Replace the mandrel if scratches. Nicks or burrs are present.
The mandrel is secured to the motor shaft adaptor with a LEFT HAND THREAD. ROTATE
CLOCKWISE TO REMOVE.
6. The force applied by the mandrel and rotational speed should be verified each year.
7. The condition of the mandrel should also be verified each year.

Note:
1.Hold the test switch, check the velocity of the mandrel.

2.If the mandrel can’t run a circle, press the power switch and reset it.
