Pujya Srimat Swami Harshananda ji was a very serious sadhaka and astute
scholar who has immensely contributed in a wide variety of ways to the
Sanatana Dharma Literature. A noted linguist in Samskrit, Kannada, Telugu,
Hindi, Bengali and English, he had deeply influenced thousands of devotees of
Sri Ramakrishna over the past seven decades of dedicated service to the
Ramakrishna Order. He has immensely contributed to the stotra literature of
bhakti sadhana of those around. He was very steadfast in his routine, habits and
demeanour. For over thirty three years he had researched and compiled a huge
body of adhyatma work now called ‘The Concise Encyclopedia of Hinduism’
which has sold over more than 14,000 sets and in two editions. The digital and
mobile edition has been very popular with scholars across the world. He was a
versatile orator and speaker, in Kannada and English. He was an accomplished
musician. A deep thinker, he was well known for his comprehensive knowledge
and deep insights into the Sanatana Dharma. Several of his works have been
translated into foreign languages.
