Each ARCHITECT or CELL-DYN
Ruby is assigned a specific IP
address by the Hardware Firewall
dependent upon the MAC address
of the instruments network adapter.
Each instrument must be
connected to the firewall assigned
to it. The Firewall(s) will be labeled
by the PC supplier with the system
or serial number of the instruments
that are to be connected to it.
Instruments cannot be swapped
between firewalls or the
instruments will not be able to
communicate to the AbbottLink PC.

In addition, if multiple firewalls are

used at the customer site, (e.g.
instruments are in different rooms
or buildings) the service
representative will need to observe
the labeling on the firewall to
determine which Instrument(s)are
to be connected to it.
