It’s traditional weaving to create any kind of product and this is made in yantok we using it for
the durable and flexible to weave (banig) this word usually came from in the eastern Philippines
like in Samar. This representing the effort of creating the handicrafts that made in yantok and doing
these is not easy, so we recognize the effort of Local Filipino to weave this raw material using
their hand is emphasizing the love and passionate to promote this product.

4
.

This is also a livelihood of Filipino to do ( banig ). It is not that easy to make it but when
everyone’s put motivation the impossible turn into a possible. This kind of product is not easy to
make because we are beginners, and no one is good at the beginning. We have to work hard before
getting the right timing to create a good product. Practice is the key to reach the success on the
other hand practice makes perfect. This kind of weaving it is called banig in part of Visayas and
we make it to become a beautiful product it’s called wall rock round. Everyone put also an
innovation and inspiration to do this product. We just need to be positive in life because having a
positive mindset is one of the definitions of being successful and everything happen for a reason.

everyone can use this kind of wooden dining table as part of their furniture for designing on interior
design.

The plywood cutting it to shape for the top of the wooden dining table after finishing the leg of
the wooden dining table the second step is to cutting the plywood to shape in and also to fit it to
our products. This kind of product is looking expensive but the costly of those materials is not kind

certainly very creative by Filipinos this type of product is a modern era vibes but we want to have
something attached to local materials that used by Local Filipinos

7
.

After placing the yantok on the cardboard to make it round, it is varnished to make the design
look like a natural color. Varnish is also used by local producers here in the Philippines to brighten
the color of the wood to make it attractive to everyone. Before attaching the wooden table leg to
the plywood bottom, it is first varnished to dry quickly. Using a paintbrush, we immediately
finished varnishing the handicrafts, we not only varnished a wooden table, but many other
handicrafts and their part of the equipment that uses most of our local producers. Filipinos often
use varnish especially on furniture because it is customary to varnish wooden works to emphasize
the creations.

(Emphasizing ideas and Creativity)

This is the second day of group member at Renchelle’s pool to continuing the crafts that
inspired on our Philippine indigenous. Handicrafts that made in yantok specialized the raw
material of local Filipino for creating this kind of weaving using a handmade. In making this pro-
duct, you need a lot of patience and perseverance to finish it because it is not that easy to do, you
have to check it every weave on yantok and if you make a mistake, the result of the product may
not be good. Doing these handmade crafts will need a focus to create a unique style of weaving
that made in yantok.

14
.

We are also facing challenging to create the products, and this is shortage of resource in yantok.
So, it will be needed to buy again for pursuing our dedication to see the result of the final outcome.
Where we bought yantok, they don't only offer yantok, most of what they sell is made by Philippine
Indigenous, so it means they are selling the local products. Most of our product planning is made
in yantok to recognize the raw material that using of indigenous people.

15
.

Finishing the product, the weaving made in yantok we need to shape it into a round to make
in a wall rock round. To make it more durable, we sewed on a blanket stich to make it round that
made in abaca rope. Sewing the product that made in yantok is not easy because you have to be
patient and making handicrafts is not easy because nowadays technology is used to speed up the
work so making handicrafts is not easy. Groupmate worked together to facilitate the handicrafts
and will finish it with a good result because the strongest team is a groupmate Nothing is
impossible if everyone works together, even if it's difficult, when we work together, the impossible
can become possible

16
.

This is the step to paint the wooden dining table using a paint brush to make the painting more
polished. So, we painted it to make the wooden dining table more attractive, this is the reason why
the color is such an attractive for guest when you display this in your living room. Two days before
finishing the wooden dining table was relatively easy compared to weaving the rattan, but we also
had a hard time attaching the legs of the wooden dining table because if the glue was wrong, the
table leg would come out, so it was necessary to be careful about not damaging the wooden dining
table so that it stands.

17
.

to what the local producer is doing. Most of our products are related to yantok because this kind
of raw materials usually using of our Local producers. Handmade yantok weaving usually started
in the Visayas part of the Philippines because it is part of their livelihood and also to earn money
by selling handmade yantok.
