What is Amazon Product Research / Product Hunting?
Amazon Product Research is all about analyzing current market trends to choose “winning” items – something that can
generate high sales.

The idea is to search for products that you can get for cheap and
yet sell for competitive prices with a good profit margin in return.

Reviews Criteria (Less than 400)
We need to select products with 3 sellers having less than 400 reviews in top 10.

Note:
If the top players have more than 1,000 reviews it will be a tough market and you should anticipate a significant amount of time/money to be spent.
So for that reason, it is a no-go area for new sellers.
Revenue Criteria (Greater than $7000)
As per experienced sellers, 5 out of 10 sellers having revenue for the targeted product should be more than $7,000. This is
an indication of the sales volume, the total market in terms of $ the product is currently operating within.

Price Criteria ($12 - $40)


Products of $12 to $40 lie in the impulse buying decision range. At this price range, the customer wouldn’t spend time trying
to figure out the best product. As long as he thinks that the product is a good fit, you win.
Competing Products Criteria (Less than 2000)
You need to find products with high demand and low competition. Competing products must be less than 2000.

Search Volume Criteria (Greater than 10,000)


Keyword Search Volume must be greater than 10,000 to ensure that enough people are searching this product.
Amazon as Seller Criteria (Less than 3)
Amazon must not be a seller quite 2 times in top 5 and 3 times in top 10 (amazon doesn't has rules for himself. so If a
distinct segment where amazon is leading should be avoided).

Brand Domination Criteria (Less than 3)


No brand should be selling more than 3 times in the top 10..
Seasonality Criteria (Greater than 25)
Avoid seasonal products as the surge in demand for these products is caused by their seasonality.

Weight Criteria (Less than 1.5KG or 3.3LBS)


Product Size and weight must be standard (Amazon FBA fee calculates on the idea of product type, Size and weight to
lesser the product dimension and weight means lesser the FBA Fees).
Product Rating (Greater than 4.2)
The Average Rating of a product must be more than 4.2 for the top 10 sellers.

Value Addition (if applicable)


If possible then add a low price product as a value addition.
