3 Nitrogen oxide, NO has comparable molar mass with oxygen, O2. The molar mass of
NO and O2 are 30.0 g mol-1 and 32.0 g mol-1 respectively. However, NO has relatively
higher boiling at -152oC compared to O2 at -183oC. Explain.

1 Nitrogen is the most abundant gas found in the atmosphere. It deviates from ideal behaviour at certain
conditions.
(a) Explain why nitrogen gas deviates from ideal behaviour at room temperature?
(c) State how the nitrogen gas deviates from ideal behaviour.
[6 marks]
2 (a) When a sample of gas is heated from 24 oC to 128 oC at constant pressure, the final volume
occupied by the gas is 1.25 L. Determine the original volume of the gas.
(b) A 3.0 L closed cylinder contains a mixture of 11.25 g nitrogen oxide, NO and 33.95 g nitrogen
