    Description
    Crushing and Grinding: Raw gypsum is mined and then crushed into smaller pieces. It is then ground into a fine powder.

    Calcination: The ground gypsum is heated in a calciner or a kiln at temperatures around 150 to 190°C (302 to 374°F).
    During this heating, the water molecules bound within the gypsum crystal structure are driven off, and the gypsum
    loses a significant portion of its water content.

    Formation of Plaster of Paris: As the calcined gypsum cools, it rehydrates and forms a new compound known as calcium
    sulfate hemihydrate (CaSO4·0.5H2O), commonly referred to as plaster of Paris. This material has a dry, powdery
    consistency and can be easily mixed with water to form a paste that can then be molded, shaped, or used for various
    purposes in construction, art, and other industries.

    The gypsum product is fed into a rotary kiln or fluidized bed furnace. The furnace is heated using natural gas, coal, oil, or
    other fuels to the required calcination temperature, which is typically around 160-180°C (320-356°F) for stucco-grade
    gypsum. The temperature is carefully controlled to prevent overcalcination or undercalcination, which could affect the
    quality of the final product.

    Preparation of Gypsum: Raw gypsum, a naturally occurring mineral, is mined or extracted from quarries. It is then crushed into
    Mixing and Forming: The ground gypsum is mixed with water to create a slurry or paste. This paste is then formed into the des
    continuous sheet by sandwiching it between two layers of paper or other facing materials.
    Calcination: The formed gypsum product is then subjected to the calcination process. The goal of calcination is to remove a po

    Furnace Process: The gypsum product is fed into a rotary kiln or fluidized bed furnace. The furnace is heated using natural gas,
    180°C (320-356°F) for stucco-grade gypsum. The temperature is carefully controlled to prevent overcalcination or undercalcina

    Dehydration and Setting: As the gypsum product is heated, the excess water in the gypsum chemically combines with the gyps
    plaster of Paris. The process also drives off some of the remaining water as steam. The hemihydrate crystals can be easily rehyd
    hardening.
    Cooling and Handling: After calcination, the partially dehydrated gypsum is cooled down gradually to avoid rapid rehydration.
