The document discusses two passages that have differing views on technology. The first passage argues that youth are becoming too reliant on social networking and losing real-world social skills. The second passage is more supportive of technology, noting how it has enhanced communication and the spread of information. The conclusion is that while some may lose social skills, most people make good use of technology without negative effects.
The second part of the document is a report on a recent careers fair held in a local town hall. It informed students about further education options and had representatives from universities and colleges. Popular degrees discussed were STEM fields and economics, with explanations of course content and potential jobs. The careers fair had a large positive impact on students and their

WRITING PART 1
The advancement and progress of technology has enabled us
to do many things that we could not, or at least difficult to accomplish. However, while addressing many of the issues we have come across over centuries, inevitably has it conceived many others. And to what extent are we capable of dealing with them? Both texts approach the topic from very different points of view. The first passage conveys that throughout the development of new systems, ways of entertainment have changed, especially among those who are the most frequent users: the youth. This paragraph emphasizes the fact that juveniles are being deprived by themselves from their social abilities, becoming “experts” in social networking rather than face-to-face contacts. This is indeed anything but true, but from my personal point of view, I see myself disagreeing with the text. Socializing is a human instinct, and even if they seem to be disappearing, they can be easily brought back by putting these people in situations of emergency. Contrary to the first passage, the second one is way more supportive about the rapid progress of technologies. It puts stress on the enhanced communications capabilities and its potential. Keeping in touch has never been so easy and fast as it is nowadays. Henceforth, the flow of information has not only let us learn more but faster. From my personal point of view, this is the reality that most of us are facing right now. Being these taken away, the impact would be of great significance. In conclusion, technology has allowed us to perceive around surroundings more accurately. People whose social skills seem to diminish are just a minority, so, being them excluded, the rest makes good use of these new tools. WRITING PART 2: Report Introduction This report sets out to inform about the recently held careers fair in our local town hall. Their main purpose was to inform about different options undergraduates who want to continue further education could choose from. The report will comment about the event itself and some careers of special interest, as well as its effects. The event The event was promoted by our local administrative authorities, and has had the pleasure of being representatives of many national and international educative institutions’ attendance. Have not these spokespeople attended, the fair would not have been this successful. In the exhibition, not only were study choices introduced, as well as universities and colleges’ facilities which are the most appealing for the students. Careers of interest A considerable amount of degrees has been presented, all of them selected after a survey conducted to know about students’ interests. Seemingly, the most consulted degrees were STEM options and economics. Not only were presentations made for further explanation, but also practical examples of what is learnt in the course. The aforementioned was key to choosing what pupils will be doing for a living, as not only did they explain the subjects included in the curriculum, but also the employment options available and their relevance. For example, STEM representatives have explained that after graduation, they could work at corporations responsible for technological research and development, and also showed some of the most notable postgraduates’ works and projects. And in the economics and financial section, jobs involving management and leadership have been displayed. Impact on students The overall influence and guidance provided in the exposition has been unmeasurably high. Many learners have already set themselves a goal in their lives. In my most humble opinion, this type of activities should be held frequently, given its beneficial features and the opportunity to meet key people. However, lack of proper distributions of the stalls have hindered the search for the right information and advice.
