The document provides installation data for standard assembly units, including:
- They are designed for dry material flow applications and require a minimum of 80 psig compressed air for actuation by a double acting air cylinder.
- Air control valves of varying sizes are required depending on the size of the assembly unit.
- Temperature and pressure ratings vary depending on the model, with some rated up to 450°F intermittent and others 400°F continuous.
- Flange gaskets and proper tightening of flange bolts are recommended to minimize distortion. Supporting lines weighing over 400 lbs is not recommended.

• Designed for dry material in gravity flow applications.
• Actuation: Double acting air cylinder. The air cylinder requires a minimum of 80 psig (5.4 bar), filtered, compressed air for most reliable service. Air lubrication is not required but is recommended for extended wear life. Magnetic piston included. Extending the air cylinder closes the gate. • Air Control: A 2 position, 4 way lever or solenoid operated compressed air control is required to operate the air cylinder. Sizes 6-13 require air controls with at least 1.4 cv (1.2 kv). Sizes 14-22 require at least 2.6 cv (2.2 kv). Sizes 24-30 require at least 5.0 cv (4.3 kv). • Air Usage: Calculated at 80 psig (5.4 bar) for 1 open or 1 closed stroke of the air cylinder. • Temperature: Base model rated at 250º f (121º c) continuous service, 300º f (149º c) intermittent (10 minutes maximum). HT4 models are rated at 400º f (204º c) continuous service, 450º f (232º c) intermittent (10 minutes maximum). • Flange Gasket: 1/4" [10] minimum soft flange gasket is recommended to minimize distortion from mating flange. If gasket is not used on distorted flange, valve will be placed in bind, and significantly reduced performance, and increase force required to properly actuate valve. • Tightened flange bolts to partially compress! • Hardware: Imperial models contain imperial hardware & metric models contain metric hardware. • Avoid supporting conveying lines and equipment exceeding 400 lbs [181kg] with the gate valve.
