-ESOTHERIA’S GENETICIZED
SKINS-
This is a carefully curated collection of nearly 100 semi-realistic skintones that have been
geneticized and (sometimes) townified, meaning that they now fall on Eaxis’ own skin color
spectrum and can be randomly passed down to sims born in game (geneticized), and will spawn on
townies and NPCs generated by your game (townified).
I’ve included a swatch card with names and previews of all skins which tells you exactly where each
skin falls on the genetic scale, what their values are, which ones of them are townified, etc. Make
sure to study it carefully!

GENERAL NOTES :
Naming conventions: I rename all my files to shorten the filenames, remove special characters, etc.,
and these skins were no exception. In addition, I’ve added the genetic values for each skin at the end
of its respective filename, using two distinct abbreviations: ‘genX.XX’ means the skin is geneticized,
but not townified; ‘genTX.XX’ means the skin is both geneticized and townified, in which case it will
also have a ‘*T’ next to its icon on the swatch card. In both cases, the X.XX represents the genetic
value of the given skin.
Not all shades of a given skinset are necessarily included in this upload. Since this was initially a
personal project, I only included blends and shades that I personally liked and/or wanted my sims
and townies to have. If you want to complete a certain set, check the ‘Credits + Links’ section for a
complete list of links to the original creators’ uploads!
Some of the skins included in this upload were already geneticized and/or townified. However, I’ve
changed those values so they’ll match the default replacements I use in my game.
On that note...
DISCLAIMERS :
USE MY DEFAULT SKINS (OR SIMILAR)! As previously mentioned, I worked around the default skins I
use in my own game to create my genetic scale, therefore these skins only make sense if they’re
used with the same default setup as mine (or one that uses very similar shades). I included the four
default skins I use in my game in a separate folder with links and credits. Make sure to plop them
into your Downloads folder, but remember: you can only have one skin default per shade!
PLEASE WATCH FOR DUPLICATES! Again, I renamed all package files included in this upload to
display their new genetic values at the end. Therefore, the files included in this download won’t
automatically overwrite the files you have in your Downloads folder, even if they’re de facto the
same skin. Make sure to check if you don’t already have the skinsets included here, and remove
those files from your Downloads folder before you add mine. It is YOUR responsibility to keep your
Downloads folder organized and free of duplicate files!
BEWARE OF PHANTOM TOWNIFIED SKINS! While I’ve been playing with this genetic setup for years
and have never had any issues with it, there was one oddity I encountered with Pooklet’s LPCMB
skins: even though they’re NOT townified, the skins spawned on townies in my game. I wrote about
it on my Tumblr asking for help, but could never get to the bottom of the mystery. So, while LPCMB
is labelled as a ‘non-townified’ skin on my swatch card, beware that it might act in unpredictable
ways. Or maybe it won’t, and I just have a very well-hidden townified duplicate somewhere among
my game files. (See now why duplicates are bad? xD)
