Ahadeeth Regarding Faith:

(1)‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬

َ ِ ‫ال َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬
َ َ‫ ق‬:‫ َع ِن ا ْب ِن ُع َم َر قَا َل‬:
َّ ‫ َشهَا َد ِة َأ ْن اَل ِإلَهَ ِإاَّل هَّللا ُ َوَأ َّن ُم َح َّمدًا َع ْب ُدهُ َو َرسُولُهُ َوِإقَ ِام ال‬:‫س‬
" ‫صاَل ِة َوِإيتَا ِء ال َّز َكا ِة‬ ٍ ‫بُنِ َي اِإْل ْساَل ُم َعلَى َخ ْم‬
َ‫ضان‬ َ ‫" َو ْال َح ِّج َو‬
َ ‫صوْ ِ>م َر َم‬
bn ‘Umar reported God's messenger as saying, “Islam is based on five
things:
the testimony that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is His servant
and messenger, the observance of the prayer, the payment of zakat, the
Pilgrimage, and the fast-during Ramadan.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

َ ِ ‫ قَا َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬:‫ع َْن َأبِي هُ َر ْي َرةَ قَا َل‬

(2)‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬
" ‫ ِإ َماطَةُ اَأْل َذى عَن الطَّ ِريق> والحياة‬:‫ قَول اَل ِإلَهَ ِإاَّل هَّللا ُ َوَأ ْدنَاهَا‬:‫اِإْل ي َمانُ بضع َو َس ْبعُونَ ُش ْعبَة فأفضلها‬
‫" ُش ْعبَة من االيمان‬
Abu Huraira reported God’s messenger as saying, “Faith has over seventy
branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is no god but
God, and the humblest of which is the removal of what is injurious from the
road. And modesty is a branch of faith.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)
(3)‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬
َ ِ ‫ال َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬
َ َ‫ ق‬:‫ض َي هَّللا ُ َع ْنهُ قَا َل‬ ٍ َ‫ع َْن َأن‬:
ِ ‫س َر‬
« َ‫اس َأجْ َم ِعين‬
ِ َّ‫»اَل يُْؤ ِمنُ َأ َح ُد ُك ْم َحتَّى َأ ُكونَ َأ َحبَّ ِإلَ ْي ِه ِم ْن َوالِ ِد ِه َو َولَ ِد ِه َوالن‬
Anas reported God’s messenger as saying, “None of you believes till I am
dearer to him than his father, his child, and all mankind.” (Bukhari and
Muslim).
(4)‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم يَقُو ُل‬
َ ِ ‫ُول هَّللا‬ ُ ‫ َس ِمع‬:‫ض َي هَّللا ُ َع ْنهُ قَا َل‬
َ ‫ْت َرس‬ ِ ‫ع َْن ُعبَا َدةَ ْب ِن الصَّا ِم‬:
ِ ‫ت َر‬
«‫» َم ْن َش ِه َد َأ ْن اَل ِإلَهَ ِإاَّل هَّللا ُ َوَأ َّن ُم َح َّمدًا َرسُو ُل هَّللا ِ َح َّر َم هللا َعلَ ْي ِه النَّار‬
Ubada b. as-Samit said:
I heard God's messenger say, “If anyone testifies that there is no god but God
and that Muhammad is God's messenger, God will keep him from going to
hell." Muslim transmitted it.

Ahadeeth Regarding Salah (Prayer):

(5)‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬ ِ ‫ع َْن َأبِي ه َُري َْرةَ َر‬:
َ ِ ‫ قَا َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬:‫ض َي هَّللا ُ َع ْنهُ قَا َل‬
 «. »‫ت ْال َكبَاِئر‬ ٌ ‫ضانَ ُم َكفِّ َر‬
ِ َ‫ات لَ َّما بَ ْينَه َُّن ِإ َذا اجْ تُنِب‬ َ ‫ات ْالخَ ْمسُ َو ْال ُج ُم َعةُ ِإلَى ْال ُج ُم َع ِة َو َر َم‬
َ ‫ضانُ ِإلَى َر َم‬ ُ ‫صلَ َو‬
َّ ‫ال‬
‫َر َواهُ ُمسلم‬
Abu Huraira reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The five [daily] prayers,
Friday to Friday and Ramadan to Ramadan make atonement for what has
happened since the previous one when major sins have been avoided.” Muslim
transmitted it.
(6)‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬
َ ِ ‫ال َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬
َ َ‫ ق‬:‫ع َْن َجابِ ٍر قَا َل‬:
َّ ‫بَ ْينَ ْال َع ْب ِد َوبَ ْينَ ْال ُك ْف ِر ترك ال‬
«‫ َر َواهُ ُمسلم‬. »‫صاَل ة‬
Jabir reported God’s Messenger as saying, “What lies between a man and
infidelity is the abandonment of prayer.”* *This means that when a man does
not make it his practice to observe the prayer he is no longer a Muslim. (Muslim
transmitted it.)
(7)‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬
َ ِ ‫ال َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬
َ َ‫ ق‬:‫ال‬
َ َ‫ع َْن بُ َر ْي َدةَ ق‬:
ّ ‫ َر َواهُ َأحْ َم ُد َوالتِّرْ ِم ِذ‬. »‫صاَل ةُ فَ َم ْن تَ َر َكهَا فَقَ ْد َكفَ َر‬
«‫ي َوالنَّ َساِئ ّي َوابْن َما َجه‬ َّ ‫ْال َع ْه ُد الَّ ِذي بَ ْينَنَا َوبَ ْينَهُ ْم ال‬
Buraida reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The covenant between us and
them is prayer, so if anyone abandons it he has become an infidel.” (Ahmad,
Tirmidhi, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah transmitted it.)
:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬
َ ِ ‫ قَا َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬:‫)ع َِن اب ِْن ُع َم َر قَا َل‬8(
»ُ‫صاَل ةُ ْال َعصْ ِر فَ َكَأنَّ َما ُوتِ َر َأ ْهلَهُ َو َمالَه‬
َ ُ‫«الَّ ِذي تَفُوتُه‬
Ibn ‘Umar reported God’s Messenger as saying, “If anyone misses the afternoon
prayer, it is as though he had been cut off from his family and his property.”
(Bukhari and Muslim.)
Ahadeeth Regarding Ramadhan
:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َوسلم‬
َ ِ ‫ال َرسُو ُ>ل هَّللا‬ ِ ‫) َأبِي هُ َر ْي َرةَ َر‬9(
َ َ‫ض َي هَّللا ُ َع ْنهُ ق‬
َ َ‫ ق‬:‫ال‬
. »‫ت َأب َْوابُ ال َّس َما ِء‬
ْ ‫ضانُ فُتِ َح‬
َ ‫«ِإذا دخل شهر َر َم‬
:‫) َوفِي> ِر َوايَ ٍة‬
ِ َ‫ت َأ ْب َوابُ َجهَنَّ َم َوس ُْل ِسل‬
. » ُ‫ت ال َّشيَا ِطين‬ ْ َ‫ت َأ ْب َوابُ ْال َجنَّ ِة َو ُغلِّق‬
ْ ‫«فُتِّ َح‬
Abu Huraira reported God’s messenger as saying, "When Ramadan begins the
gates of heaven are opened
A version has, "The gates of paradise are opened, the gates of jahannam are
".locked, and the devils are chained
 :‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬
َ ِ ‫ضانُ َف َقا َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬
َ ‫ د ََخ َل َر َم‬:‫ْن َمالِكٍ َقا َل‬ ِ ‫) َعنْ َأ َن‬10(
ِ ‫سب‬
‫ض َر ُك ْم َوفِي ِه لَ ْيلَ ٌة َخ ْي ٌر َمنْ َأ ْلفِ َشه ٍْر َمنْ ح ُِر َم َها َف َق ْد ح ُِر َم ْال َخي َْر ُكلَّ ُه َواَل يُحْ َر ُم َخي َْر َها‬
َ ‫«ِإنَّ َه َذا ال َّشه َْر َق ْد َح‬
‫اجه‬ َ ‫ َر َواهُ ابْن َم‬. »‫ِإاَّل كل محروم‬
Anas b. Malik told of God’s messenger saying when Ramadan began,
“This month has come to you, and it contains a night which is better than
a thousand months. He who is deprived of it is deprived of all good, but
only those who are denied prosperity are deprived of it." Ibn Majah

:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬

َ ِ ‫ال َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬
َ َ‫ ق‬:‫)ع َْن َس ْه ِل ْب ِن َس ْع ٍد قَا َل‬11(
ٍ ‫" فِي ْال َجنَّ ِة ثَ َمانِيَةُ َأ ْب َوا‬
" ‫ بَابٌ يُ َس َّمى ال َّريَّانَ اَل ي ْدخلهُ ِإاَّل الصائمون‬:‫ب ِم ْنهَا‬
Sahl b. Sa'd reported God’s messenger as saying, "In paradise there are eight
gates among which is a gate called ar-Rayyan which only those who fast will
enter." (Bukhari and Muslim.)
>:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬ ٍ َ‫)ع َْن َأن‬12(
َ ِ ‫ قَا َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬:‫س قَا َل‬
>ِ ‫«تَ َس َّحرُوا فَِإ َّن فِي ال َّسح‬
»‫ُور بر َكة‬
Anas reported God's messenger as saying, “Take a meal a little before dawn, for
there is a blessing in taking a meal at that time.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Ahadeeth Regarding Zakat ( charity)

:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َوسلم‬
َ ِ ‫ قَا َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬:‫ير ْب ِن َع ْب ُد هَّللا ِ قَا َل‬
ِ ‫)ع َْن َج ِر‬13(
ٍ ‫ق فَ ْليَصْ دُرْ َع ْن ُك ْم َوهُ َو َع ْن ُك ْم َر‬
‫ َر َواهُ ُمسلم‬. »‫اض‬ َ ‫«ِإذا َأتَا ُك ُم ْال ُم‬
ُ ‫ص ِّد‬
Jarir b. ‘Abdallah reported God’s messenger as saying, “When the collector of
”.sadaqa comes to you see that he is pleased with you when he leaves you
.Muslim transmitted it
:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬
َ ِ ‫ قَا َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬:‫ال‬
َ َ‫)عَن َرافع بن خديح ق‬14(
ّ ‫ َر َواهُ َأبُو دَا ُود َوالتِّرْ ِم ِذ‬. »‫يل هَّللا ِ َحتَّى يَرْ ِج َع ِإلَى بَ ْيتِ ِه‬
‫ي‬ ِ ‫ق َك ْالغ‬
ِ ِ‫َازي فِي َسب‬ ِّ ‫ص َدقَ ِة بِ ْال َح‬ ْ
َّ ‫«ال َعا ِم ُل َعلَى ال‬
Rafi‘ b. Khadij reported God’s messenger as saying, “The official who collects
sadaqa in a just manner is like him who fights in God’s path till he returns
home." (Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi transmitted it.)
َ ‫ب ع َْن َأبِي ِه ع َْن َج ِّد ِه َع ِن النَّبِ ِّي‬
:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم قَا َل‬ ٍ ‫)ع َْن َع ْم ِرو ب ِْن ُش َع ْي‬15(
 ‫ َر َواهُ َأبُو دَا ُو َد‬. »‫ُور ِه ْم‬ َ ‫َب َواَل تُْؤ َخ ُ>ذ‬
ِ ‫ص َدقَاتُهُْ>م ِإاَّل فِي د‬ َ َ‫«اَل َجل‬
َ ‫ب َواَل َجن‬
Amr b. Shu'aib on his father’s authority said his grandfather reported the ‘
Prophet as saying, “There is to be no collecting of sadaqa from a distance, nor
must people who own property remove it far away,* for their sadaqat are to be
”.received only in their dwellings
.Abu Dawud transmitted it
>:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬ ٍ َ‫)ع َْن َأن‬16(
َ ِ ‫ قَا َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬:‫س قَا َل‬
>ّ ‫ َر َواهُ َأبُو دَا ُود َوالتِّرْ ِم ِذ‬. »‫ص َدقَ ِة َك َمانِ ِعهَا‬

َّ ‫«ال ُم ْعتَ ِدي فِي ال‬
Anas reported God’s messenger as saying, “He who collects more sadaqa than
* ”.is due is like him who refuses to pay it

:Ahadeeth Regarding Hajj (Pilgrimage)
:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬
َ ِ ‫ ُسِئ َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬:‫)عن أبى هريرة قَا َل‬17(
َ ِ‫ ق‬. »ِ ‫يل هَّللا‬
‫ ثُ َّم َما َذا؟‬:‫يل‬ ْ :‫ ثُ َّم َما َذا؟ قَا َل‬:‫يل‬
ِ ِ‫«ال ِجهَا ُد فِي َسب‬ َ ِ‫ان بِاهَّلل ِ َو َرسُولِ ِه» ق‬ َ ‫َأيُّ ْال َع َم ِل َأ ْف‬
ٌ ‫ «ِإي َم‬:‫ضلُ؟ قَا َل‬
»ٌ‫ « َح ٌّج مبرور‬:‫ال‬ َ َ‫ق‬
Abu Hurairah said that God’s messenger was asked what action was most
excellent and replied that it was faith in God and His messenger. He was asked
what came next and replied that it was jihad in God’s path. He was asked what
.came next and replied that it was a pilgrimage which was accepted
Bukhari and Muslim
:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َوسلم‬
َ ِ ‫ قَا َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬:‫) عن أبى هريرة قَا َل‬18(
»‫ث َولَ ْم يَ ْف ُس ْق َر َج َع َكيَوْ ِم َولَ َد ْتهُ أمه‬
ْ ُ‫« ِم ْن َح َّج فَلَ ْم يَرْ ف‬
Abu Hurairah reported God’s messenger as saying, “If anyone performs the
pilgrimage for God’s sake without talking immodestly or acting wickedly, he
”.will return [free from sin] as on the day his mother bore him

:‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َعلَ ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬
َ ِ ‫ قَا َل َرسُو ُل هَّللا‬:‫) عن أبى هريرة قَا َل‬19(
َ ‫ارةٌ لِ َما بَ ْينَهُ َما َو ْال َحجُّ ْال َم ْبرُو ُ>ر لَي‬
»ُ‫ْس لَهُ َجزا ٌء ِإال الجنَّة‬ َ َّ‫«ال ُع ْم َرةُ ِإلَى ْال ُع ْم َر ِة َكف‬

Abu Hurarah reported God’s messenger as saying, “An 'umra is an expiation for
sins committed between it and the next, but a hajj which is accepted will receive
”.no less a reward than paradise

»‫ضان تعدل حجَّة‬
َ ‫«ِإن ع ْم َرة فِي َر َم‬
Ibn ‘Abbas reported God’s messenger as saying, “An 'umra in Ramadan is
equal to a hajja. ” (hajj is the word for the pilgrimage and hajja is a form
indicating a single observance.)
:Significance if sincerity

َ aْ‫ي ُب َها َأ ْو ِإلَى ام‬a‫ُص‬ِ ‫ا ي‬aa‫ ُه ِإلَى ُد ْن َي‬a‫ت هِجْ َر ُت‬ ْ ‫ا َن‬aa‫ َف َمنْ َك‬،‫وى‬aَ a‫ا َن‬aa‫ َوِإ َّن َما لِ ُك ِّل ام ِْرٍئ َم‬،ِ‫اَأْلعْ َما ُل ِبال ِّنيَّات‬
" ‫اج َر ِإلَ ْي ِه‬َ ‫َف ِهجْ َر ُت ُه ِإلَى َما َه‬
Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab:
I heard Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬saying, "The reward of deeds
depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward
according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly
benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he
emigrated for."

Virtues of Dhikr:

ِ a‫لم " َكلِ َم َت‬aa‫ه وس‬aa‫ه َُري َْر َة ـ رضى هللا عنه ـ َقا َل َقا َل الن ِبيُّ صلى هللا علي‬
. " ‫ان هَّللا ِ ْالعَظِ ِيم‬
َ ‫ ُسب َْح‬،ِ‫ان هَّللا ِ َو ِب َح ْم ِده‬
َ ‫ان ُسب َْح‬ َ ‫ان فِي ْالم‬
ِ ‫ِيز‬ ِ ‫َعلَى اللِّ َس‬
ِ ‫ َثقِيلَ َت‬،‫ان‬
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬said, "(There are) two words which are dear to the
Beneficent (Allah) and very light (easy) for the tongue (to say), but very
heavy in weight in the balance. They are: ''Subhan Allah wa-bi hamdihi''
and ''Subhan Allah Al-`Azim."
