Glavel, Inc. is a foam glass gravel manufacturer located in Burlington, Vermont. Foam
glass gravel is a bulk aggregate made from post-consumer recycled glass. Both versatile
and lightweight, foam glass gravel is a preferred material across the construction
industry for the built environment and civil sector. Applications for foam glass gravel
include commercial and residential subslab insulation, green roof fill, and lightweight
fill for embankments, roadways, and retaining walls.
Glavel’s manufacturing facility is located in Essex, VT. Each year, a Glavel kiln
transforms 7,500 tons of post-consumer recycled glass into foam glass gravel. Glavel’s
manufacturing facility is the first foam glass gravel plant in North America to be powered
by carbon-free electrons, making Glavel a preferred choice for sustainability and low
embodied carbon construction.
