SIDO
Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) is a subordinate office of the
Department of SSI and Auxiliary and Rural Industry (ARI). It’s anything but a summit
body and nodal office for defining, planning and checking the approaches and
projects for advancement and improvement of limited scope ventures.

All small scale businesses aside from those falling inside the specific sheets and
organizations like Khadi and Village Industries (KVI), Coir Boards, Central Silk Board,
and so forth, fall under the domain of the SIDO.
The fundamental functions performed by the SIDO in every one of its three classes of
functions are:
a. To advance a public approach for the improvement of small scale industries,
KVIC
The KVIC is charged with the planning, promotion, organization and implementation of
programs for the development of Khadi and other village industries in the rural areas in
coordination with other agencies engaged in rural development wherever necessary.
Objective
Its functions also comprise building up of a reserve of raw materials and implements for
supply to producers, creation of common service facilities for processing of raw materials as
semi-finished goods and provisions of facilities for marketing of KVI products apart from
organization of training of artisans engaged in these industries and encouragement of co-
operative efforts amongst them. To promote the sale and marketing of khadi and/or
products of village industries or handicrafts, the KVIC may forge linkages with established
marketing agencies wherever feasible and necessary. The KVIC is also charged with the
responsibility of encouraging and promoting research in the production techniques and
equipment employed in the Khadi and Village Industries sector and providing facilities for
the study of the problems relating to it, including the use of non-conventional energy and
electric power with a view to increasing productivity, eliminating drudgery and otherwise
enhancing their competitive capacity and arranging for dissemination of salient results
obtained from such research. Further, the KVIC is entrusted with the task of providing
financial assistance to institutions and individuals for development and operation of Khadi
and village industries and guiding them through supply of designs, prototypes and other
technical information. In implementing KVI activities, the KVIC may take such steps as to
ensure genuineness of the products and to set standards of quality and ensure that the
products of Khadi and village industries do conform to the standards.
The KVIC may also undertake directly or through other agencies studies concerning the
problems of Khadi and/or village industries besides research or establishing pilot projects
for the development of Khadi and village industries.
NIESBUD
The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development is a
premier organization of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship,
engaged in training, consultancy, research, etc. in order to promote entrepreneurship
and Skill Development. The major activities of the Institute include Training of
Trainers, Management Development Programs, Entrepreneurship-cum-Skill
Development Programs, Entrepreneurship Development Programs and Cluster
Intervention. NIESBUD has provided training to 12,37,307 persons till date through
46,837 different training programs since inception. This includes 5,011 international
participants hailing from more than 145 countries throughout the globe.
NSIC
National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), is an ISO 9001:2015 certified Government
of India Enterprise under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
NSIC has been working to promote, aid and foster the growth of micro, small and
medium enterprises in the country. NSIC operates through countrywide network of
offices and Technical Centers in the Country. In addition, NSIC has set up Training cum
Incubation Centre managed by professional manpower.
Mission: “To promote and support Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
Sector” by providing integrated support services encompassing Marketing, Technology,
Finance and other services.
Vision: “To be a premier Organization fostering the growth of Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Sector”.
Government of India has made fast paced efforts towards making the vision of
Startup India initiative a reality. Substantial progress has been made under the
Startup India initiative, which has stirred entrepreneurial spirit across the country.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is mandated to
coordinate implementation of Startup India initiative with other Government
Departments. Apart from DPIIT, the initiatives under Startup India are driven
primarily by five Government Departments viz. Department of Science and
Technology (DST), Department of Bio-technology (DBT), Ministry of Human Resource
Development (MHRD), Ministry of Labour and Employment and Ministry of
Corporate Affairs(MCA) and NITI Aayog.
SIDBI
SIDBI was established with the mission of facilitating and strengthening the flow of
credit to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and for addressing the
developmental and financial gaps in the ecosystem of MSMEs.
It is a statutory body set up under an act of the Indian Parliament in 1990.
Functions of SIDBI
As the name suggests NABARD is a development bank focusing primarily on the rural sector
of the country. It is, in fact, India‘s apex development bank. It is one of the most important
institutions in the country. NABARD is responsible for the development of the small
industries, cottage industries, and any other such village or rural projects.
Established on 12th July 1982, it had an initial capital of 100 crores. The bank is under the
supervision of a Board of Directors which the Government of India will appoint. The
headquarters of NABARD is in Mumbai but it has many branches and regional divisions.
NABARD is instrumental in the development and efficiency of the current rural credit
system. Over half the credit in the rural region comes from Co-operative banks and
Regional Rural Banks. NABARD is responsible for regulating and supervising the functioning
of such banks. Over the years NABARD has been pushing for development in the credit
schemes for rural populations to meet their new credit requirements.
Other than meeting credit requirements of the rural sector NABARD is also instrumental in
social innovations and projects. It partners with various organizations for many innovative
projects such as SHG-Bank linking, innovative schemes for water and soil conservation.
Over the last three decades, the institution has gained goodwill and trust in the farmers
and rural communities.
FICCI
Established in 1927, FICCI is the largest and oldest apex business organisation in India. Its
history is closely interwoven with India's struggle for independence, its industrialization, and
its emergence as one of the most rapidly growing global economies.
FICCI provides a platform for networking and consensus building within and across sectors
and is the first port of call for Indian industry, policy makers and the international business
community.
PHD chamber of commerce
PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry(PHDCCI) is one of the Premier Chambers in India
to have been accredited with “Diamond Grade†by NABET(QCI), at national and
international level.
PHDCCI is a National Apex Chamber having its International office at Bahrain for 6 GCC
countries, with 1,30,000 companies as its members base, as total focus on the development
of small and medium businesses. PHDCCI has co-opted National and International Industry
Associations and Organizations through over 100 MoUs signed between the parties.’’
PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, established in 1905, is a proactive National Apex
Chamber working at the grass-root level and with strong national and international linkages.
The Chamber acts as a catalyst in the promotion of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship.
PHD Chamber, through its research-based policy advocacy role, positively impacts the
economic growth and development of the nation. PHD Chamber is more than an
organization of the business community, as it lives by the chosen motto In Community Life &
Part of It and contributes significantly to socio-economic development and capacity building
in several fields.
The District Industries Centre, has been established with the purpose of promoting Micro
Small and Medium Enterprises in the District which contribute significantly for the economic
growth of the Districts and also boosts the tempo of employment opportunities by
implementation of the central and state governments of the various schemes and
programmes. DIC’s provide full assistance to the entrepreneurs who are going to start the
business on their own and in their regional places. The DICs program was started in the year
of 1978-79.
The aim of DIC is to promote Industrial Development in the District, in order to generate
employment opportunities, by facilitating entrepreneurs in establishing Micro, Small and
Medium enterprises by improving necessary conditions like infrastructures development,
skill development and providing financial support in the form of incentives to the
prospective entrepreneurs. The district industries center is also one of the implementing
Agencies of Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in the district.
