LEARNING OUTLINE

1. Divide pupils into groups and distribute pictures of celebrations to groups.

2. Pupils take turns describing the celebrations. E.g. This is Hari Raya. On that day, I eat ketupat and rendang.
3. The rest of the pupils try to guess which picture it is.
4. Activity 1:
a. Distribute worksheet.
b. Pupils read the sentences and fill in the gaps with the correct words.
c. Have pupils check answers in pairs first, then check as a class.
5. Activity 2:
a. Direct pupils’ attention to the picture and ask pupils to guess what kind of celebration it is.

c. Play CD track 69.
d. Pupils write T for true or F for false according to what they hear. (Assessment)
e. Have pupils compare their answers in pairs first, then check as a class.
6. Activity 3:
a. Pupils read the questions and answer about themselves in the space given.
b. After pupils have answered all of the questions on their own, divide them into pairs and have them ask and
answer questions with their partners.
c. Show or elicit from pupils how to make the exchange more natural, e.g. by adding in expressions such as
Really? or a comment like Oh, that’s soon to show understanding. (Assessment)
d. They could also join the exchanges together to make them more interactive.
e. Have a few pairs role-play the activity in front of the class.

7. Ask pupils to think about their learning and performance in this unit.

8. They then complete the self-assessment worksheet.


9. Collect the worksheets from pupils and review them to note pupils’ responses.
