Gastronomy
Australia's gastronomy has since ever been characterized as the result of a set of cuisines that reflect its
multicultural historical past.
Due to the predominance of Italian cuisine, there is an abundance of cakes and pies, roast cuts of meat,
grilled steaks, chicken, as well as other forms of meat generally accompanied by vegetables, vegetables
such as potatoes, beans, and carrots.
The typical Australian dish until now is meat pie, which it seems like nothing else is going to compare to it.
There are other typical foods that, although they are not consumed as much as the dish we just
mentioned, constitute a very accepted delicacy among Australians. This is also how they have Cabanossi,
which are a type of sausage or sausage similar to salami.
Other popular Australian dishes have since ever been those cooked with the meat of exotic animals such
as crocodile, kangaroo or buffalo. Crustaceans known as mud crabs and yabbie shrimp are also important.
Meats, fish, seafood and especially native plants have ever been traditional to the Aboriginal tribes that
have lived in Australia from 40,000 to 60,000 years ago until now. Some of them can be seen on the menus
of Australian restaurants, which since the end of the 20th century have recently rediscovered and made
bushfood fashionable.
