INTRODUCTION:
SCENE 1:
RP1: Through the time, saigon which is ho chi minh city has been the
observer of the “up and down” through the vietnamese history
RP2: And here now, we’re standing on the landmark that represent for
the essentials event in our history which call : “ Liberation of the South”
or as western name is : “The Fall of Saigon”
RP1: And that is the “INDEPENDENT PALACE”
HISTORY OF THE INDEPENDENT PALACE
SCENE 2:
RP1: The Independence Palace also publicly known as the Reunification
Convention Hall is a landmark in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as
Saigon), Vietnam.
RP2: This building used to be Norodom Palace which is a mansion
building that was once used as the residence and working place of the
Governor General of Indochina in Saigon during the French colonial
period. Since 1955, this project has become the palace of the President
of the Republic of Vietnam. In 1962, it was damaged after a bombing,
then abandoned and replaced by today's Independent palace.
INFORMATIONS:
SCENE 2:
RP1: As far as we research it was designed by architect Ngô Viết
Thụ and was the home and workplace of the president of the Republic of
Vietnam. It was the site of “The independence of the southern Vietnam” or
“The fall of Saigon” on 30 April 1975 that ended the Vietnam War, when
a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates.
RP2: The facade of the Palace is decorated with stylized bamboo blinds,
imitating the style of blinds in Vietnamese houses and the motifs of
ancient pagodas in Vietnam. The Palace's rooms are decorated with
many jade paintings, lacquer paintings, and oil paintings.
