This note reflects the general process on how to interact with SAP development teams on enhancing SAP
standard products. It is possible that some SAP products have additional or different processes to reflect the
product’s situation, for example according to its lifecycle. In these cases, there are other Notes or KBAs that
provide more detailed instructions.

Customer Influence: Your one-stop-shop for collaborating with the SAP community to shape SAP
products

SAP Support provides assistance via multiple channels where you are experiencing an issue specific to the
standard functionality of your SAP solution and after you have searched for a known solution using the
SAP Support knowledge base.

If your issue is by design or already known, you may provide your suggested improvement to SAP through
the SAP Customer Influence site. This site is dedicated to enable Customers to interact with SAP to enhance
current and future features and functions of the SAP Standard products, and in all stages of the products’
lifecycle.

The site hosts five main customer influence programs:

1. The SAP Customer Engagement Initiative provides opportunity to share your ideas during the
development process.
2. Our SAP Beta Testing lets you provide feedback on a product in advance of release.
3. The SAP Early Adopter Care program provides extra help to go into production with new innovations
when they are first released to the general public.
4. SAP Customer Connection focus topics provide opportunities to request enhancements post go-live
for OnPrem products.
5. SAP Continuous Influence program enables you to suggest improvements on SAP products directly
to the development teams for high-growth products

What are the SAP programs to suggest Improvement requests?

SAP Customer Connection and SAP Continuous Influence programs focus specifically on Improvement
requests to SAP products. The programs are explained further below:

• Both programs are open to Customers and Partners to submit Improvement Requests, prioritize them
through voting, and collaborate with SAP development to deliver the most pertinent requests.
• SAP Customer Connection is rather designed for On-Premise products on maintenance and works
on a project basis. This program is typically used for SAP ERP Suite products. SAP Continuous
Influence is rather designed for intensive feedback on Cloud solutions and newer technologies, with
continuous collection and frequent reviews.

Instructions on using the Customer Influence site

• Get started by opening the SAP Customer Influence site.

• Log on with your S-user and accept the terms of use.
• Find your area of interest by clicking on the “tag” icon in the left hand menu (direct link) and navigate
to the area that interests you, for example by Products or Industries.
• There you will find all opportunities to collaborate with SAP. You can filter these further according to
your intention – Innovate, Adopt, Explore, Improve.
• Once you have found the appropriate Customer Connection project or Continuous Influence session:
• Search if your idea has already been submitted by another customer and if not, please log your
idea
• Vote for improvements you wish to support and plan to take advantage of in your organization.
Note: You will be notified on updates regarding ideas you have voted for.

• Submit improvements: If you cannot find an idea that matches your need, use the “Submit
Improvement” button to create a new idea & fill out the relevant template.
• Wait for Review: Once your idea has been submitted, other customers can see and vote for it.
Ideas that reach the voting threshold (minimum number of votes) will be reviewed.
• Voting threshold: Each project may have different thresholds. You will find this information on
the landing page of each project.
• Improvements that have little to no votes from the community are automatically closed to help
ease of navigation & visibility for the community.
• Review Result Communication: Each quarter, a blog is posted with the information on the
accepted and delivered ideas.
• My Requests / Votes / Comments: here can find all your Improvement Requests you
submitted, voted for or commented on.
• If you did not find a session or project pertaining to the product you are interested in:
• This means that the development team currently does not accept new improvement requests for
this product.
• If you wish to suggest to SAP the creation of such an area, it is reserved to SAP User Groups.
Please contact your local SAP User Group, who can help provide SAP with user feedback in all
technical and functional areas of interest.

How does SAP decide which Improvement Requests are implemented?

Improvement Requests are reviewed by SAP Product Management. Customer votes help to prioritize them,
along with other important selection criteria such as:

• Desirability: How many customers voted for this? How many customers will benefit from it?
• Viability: Is this Improvement Request globally relevant? Is this in alignment with SAP’s strategy for
the product?
• Feasibility: Is the development effort realistic? Is this request achievable within the product’s
architecture?

All ideas are welcome and valuable. However please note that some ideas will not be possible within the
scope of what we want to accomplish for the product development.
