1. Install inside bearing clamp tight against the boom point sheave sleeve.
2. Install outside bearing clamp against the boom point sheave sleeve. Use 4 equally spaced socket head cap screws
tighten to 270 N·m (200 lb ft). Use depth gauge to measure depth through 4 holes in the outside bearing clamp.
3. Remove the outside bearing clamp. Measure the clamp thickness at the same points the depth measurement was
taken. the difference between the depth measurement and the clamp thickness is the gap. Calculate the average of the

8 24 4 gap measurements. The average is used to determine the shim pack thickness.

4. Reassemble the outside bearing clamp with the shim pack in place and secure with all hardware. Apply retaining
compound to the socket head cap screws then torque to 68 N·m (50 lb ft) in a 180 degree alternating pattern. Continue
to tighten socket head cap screws to 1/3 the final torque value ( 90 N·m (67 lb ft)). Bring all cap screws to 1/3 value
before going to the next torque step.
5. Repeat shimming procedure for bearing clamps on both boom point sheaves.
