OTA/PTA students from Durham college, assigned by Tressa your PT to help you get back to
how you were before your accident. How are you feeling today? We are also here to help rebuild
your strength and help you get back to your everyday life as normal. Today, Danny, all we are
going to be doing is walking you from this chair to your television using your walker. This
should take us anywhere from 3-4 minutes and if you need a break just let me know. Just to
inform you there is a risk of you falling so I am here to prevent that from occurring. If you are
feeling weak or have any sense of discomfort let me know and we can stop this at any time. Is
everything making sense so far? Our goal today is to make it as close as possible to the tv and
back, by doing this activity you will start building muscle so you can gain better balance to walk
again. We will also be doing some knee to chest exercise; this exercise will help stretch your hips
and glutes to help improve your mobility (Flint Rehab, 2022). This exercise will take us around
8-10 minutes depending on the speed you are most comfortable with. The benefit of this stretch
is to help loosen your muscles, so they are not super tight when doing other daily functions.
Some risks that can occur with this exercise are discomfort, it should not be painful so if you
have a sense of pain we can stop at any moment. Do you have any questions for us, or do you
need us to clarify anything? Now for these exercises we will need to assist you by placing our
hands on you to help guide you through the motions, do we have your consent to do so? If so, are
you okay to begin now? Just so you know, we can stop at any time if you feel too much pain or
discomfort or if you just need a break. How are you feeling? Any pain or discomfort? Could you
rate your pain level on a scale from 1-10? 1 being no pain and 10 being the worst pain you've
ever felt. We will be sure to watch for nonverbal cues of any pain or discomfort, such as body
