Polyethylene HE3488-LS-W
Black high-density bimodal PE100 polyethylene compound for pressure water pipes

Description
HE3488-LS-W is a black bimodal HDPE compound produced using the advanced Borstar® patented technology, with
a pressure rating of 10MPa (PE100). Contains a well-dispersed carbon black for pressure piping that provides
excellent UV resistance and is formulated specifically for plumbing applications. HE3488-LS-W fully complies with
Chinese national standard GB/T 13663:2018.

Application
The HE3488-LS-W is designed for water pressure piping systems. It has good resistance to fast and slow crack growth.

The black compound PE is sensitive to moisture due to its inherent hygroscopicity. Excessive storage time
or harsh storage conditions will increase the moisture content. Under normal conditions and applications,
we recommend preheating and drying for a minimum of 1 hour at a maximum temperature of 90 °C.

挤出
The actual processing conditions depend on the type of equipment used and the size and wall thickness of the
: pipes. The
following conditions can be used as a reference for starting the extruder
机头 200 – 210°C
模头 200 – 210°C
熔体温度 200 – 220°C
Specific processing conditions should only be determined if the application method and type of equipment
are known. Please contact your local Borouge office for details.

Storage

HE3488-LS-W should be stored in a dry environment below 50°C and protected from UV light. And to
prevent UV radiation in a dry environment. Improper storage can trigger degradation, resulting in off-flavor
and discoloration, which can adversely affect the physical properties of the product.

More information on how to store the product should be documented in the Safety Information Sheet.

When properly stored, the shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture.

For more storage information, please refer to the product safety information sheet.

Safety
Dust and fine impurities in the product will create a risk of dust explosion. All equipment should be
properly grounded. When in contact with the product, avoid inhalation of dust to prevent irritation to
the respiratory system. Small amounts of fumes are generated during product processing. Proper
ventilation is therefore required.

For more information on product safety, recycling and disposal, please refer to our Safety Information Sheet
(SIS) or contact your Borouge representative for more information.
