INTRODUCTION

This manual was produced by Blairwood Academy to efficiently instruct students

with various learning challenges, in the required skills for obtaining the Bahamas
Junior Certificate (BJC) in English. Each category is intended to provide concise
recommendations on the skills needed for each subject that will be tested for this
level of academic certification. Samples are also given for each subject-matter
to guide instructors with lesson planning to train and retain skills.

As a result of the manual being based on the approved guidelines of The Ministry
of Education for The Bahamas, all sections have been modified for alternative
learning which is more suitable for students that have learning challenges or
impairments.
